Please don't ruin the Rookie

If young comes out and shats the bed again, can they sit him and put Dalton In without screwing his head up? Obviously, he is not ready for prime time yet.

Not his fault. No weapons, play calling is atrocious, and the Oline and running game is highly suspect.

How long do they start him before they ruin him and kill any confidence he had? Let him sit and get his head back on straight.

Should have done this from the get go.

The perfect thing to do would have been starting the season with Dalton. Problem is Tepper most likely in the ear, needed to sell seats early and conjure excitement so they all praise this 8th grader. The difference is I can't say I was wrong and we should have went AR15 or Stroud, b/c we'd be sitting here doing the same thing. Caldwell was an awful coach, Josh McCown was an awful QB, and Reich didn't call plays for Philly when they won and came in with Luck in Indy. Dalton can move the ball. Literally with this defense, we just need to keep the opposing team's offense off the field. Don't even have to score, just eat up the damn clock and limit three and outs.

watching that video it appeared Bryce was examaining the defense and their formation... he hadn't looked where he was on the field yet. Miles pushed him over before he even looked forward to see where he was positioned. I think it's safe to assume he would not have snapped the ball while behind the guard... especially in shotgun haha

Can't believe people making such a big deal out of that.

I think maybe the RG sub could have thrown him off too. Boze is 56 and he lined up behind 76. He was locked in on the defense too.

Not gonna lie, when he lined up behind the RG and had to get chucked into position by Sanders I was like... oh fug.

    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
    • My biggest issue with keeping Darnold, which I felt we should have done, is we would still have Fitterer. And everything that came with that.  I think Morgan is going to be good.  Baker, just did not play well at all here. Not sure what else we were supposed to take away from it at the time.  That’s my short ‘I don’t want to argue about it’ take.
    • Even if we somehow make the playoffs we will be one and done so fast. Seattle, Rams, TB, Panthers, Detroit and Philly are all better than us.
