We would have to way overpay him to come here.

That's fine.  We will have the money.  Sometimes you have to overpay for guys and Tee Higgins could absolutely be one of those dudes who proves to be worth "overpaying".

A lot of people said the Jags overpaid for Christian Kirk but he's proven to be a good contributor and hasn't stopped them from winning.  I just think we have to be aggressive in pursuing him, because he could be a #1 for a lotta teams.  He just so happens to play with a top-3 WR.

62.8% Completions

17 Passing Touchdowns

15 Interceptions

3315 Passing Yards ( 195 per game )

287 Rushing Yards ( 17 per game )

We don’t have a first round pick next year, we aren’t bringing in a big WR free agent and we aren’t making a trade for a top tier one. We have already switched playcallers and the offense has gotten worse. If Frank gets fired Bryce will be another rookie QB who gets a year wasted and then basically be a rookie again in year 2 with a new coach and a new system.

The hell do we do to get better next year and support him?

I don’t agree at all with the premise that he will basically be a rookie QB again. If this coaching staff doesn’t start to develop some offensive ingenuity maybe a new coach is the best thing for Bryce the way it was for Treveor Lawrence even if learning a whole new offense isn’t ideal. Regardless the idea he is basically a rookie QB again discounts his whole season. This is a shitty season, but he is still playing NFL QB and learning. That’s always worth something. I’m a Bruce believer, but even for the haters he is certainly the type of guy who will grind and work his ass of this off season.

Those aren't God awful stats under the circumstances, but you'd certainly like to see more from the #1 overall pick, especially with C.J. Stroud playing out of his mind in Houston.

The problem going forward in terms of giving him a better supporting cast is the regression we've seen from the OL. If they were playing like last year we could focus on adding receiving targets and maybe a talented young RB in the draft and be in pretty good shape.

However, we MUST get the OL to a point where it's able to protect Bryce at an average level at least. Whether that's switching to a new blocking scheme or adding talent or both.

My ideal scenario would be to switch back to a scheme that better fits our talent up front, make Brady Christensen the "6th man" so to speak, who will be our key depth player who is able to play either guard or tackle spot, and sign the best free agent guard available to start. But that depends on Ickey being the answer at LT and on the scheme change benefiting both him and Bozeman. Plus, the list of free agent guards for next year isn't especially impressive.

I also think we should seriously entertain offers for Brian Burns, both to recoup draft picks but also so we can use that cap space to address the offense.

Either way, hopefully it won't be Scott Fitterer making these decisions.

  • Fire Fitt and Reich
  • Hire new GM and young offensive HC
  • Trade Burns even if it's for a 2nd
  • Draft all offense including a pass catching TE and Oline
  • Profit

SMH. It hurts when I read this knowing that we had 2 1sts and pick 36 for Burns. Pick 36 was right after La Porta so we could have traded up with DJ Johnson’s 4th to get La Porta or heck we could have traded his 3rd and 4th and gotten Kincaid. 2023 was the prime fuging year to draft a TE and we took Mingo and DJ and now we are looking for a TE. Fitterer is literally the worst GM on the planet. No, Moore is not available at all so GB we don’t want pick 15. Oh, we need to throw in Moore to sweeten the Young trade up? Sure thing. Ugh, just so freaking bad, like Hurney 2.0 just even worse.

Yes, obviously if he walks it’s cheaper. But signing him to a long term deal should free up cap space vs tagging

No, it doesn’t free up space for Burns. Burns is not on our 2024 cap right now at all. We can lower his new cap hit for 2024 with a long deal and bonuses but technically speaking, he counts $0 on the current cap so whatever his first year cap charge is, it comes out of the $40M in space we have now. Remember when we had $100M plus and everyone said don’t worry about the 2023 cap we’ll have gobs of space. $40M and we don’t even have 2 key cogs on D on our roster for 2024 yet and we are 1-8.

Regardless if you think Bryce could be the guy or not , if Fitterer stays then he is already done here.

They can throw blame around all they want but that house needs to be purged and anything less just results in more fantasies from fans because they are not going to be doing much good again if anything is left to carryover to the new clownshow. We are already on version 2.0 and it just keeps getting worse.
