Anyone else shamelessly 'pro tank'? (Lay on the floor for Sheduer)

Call me an optimist but I always go into a season thinking we have a chance to at least make some noise. So much parody in the nfl and you can’t see player development until a few games into the season.

whether Bryce succeeds or not, all the reports that have come out confirm that he was not put in an ideal situation to succeed last year. On top of that our drafting may have been the worst in the league over the last few years.

Let’s see what a revamped OL looks like with some new weapons before deciding to write off this season. If we start 1-4 then my mindset will go directly towards ranking the rest of the season

Best thing we can hope for, even if I don’t think it’s likely, is Bryce shows strong improvement. The team protects him and begins to grow but we still go 3-14 and land the #1 pick with a couple QB hungry teams at #2 and #3. Sanders or another QB blows up and we get a kings ransom for #1.

That being said I think Bryce implodes, we win 5 games with the help of Dalton and land squarely in purgatory at #4 pick while the team sucks.

as of today? No, I wouldn't want anything to do with Sanders.

could that change? Sure.  But he would have to continue to grow and change.

Right now, I don't think Sanders is a good leader.  Think he is a me-centric spoiled kid.  I think he is risk adverse to make his stat sheet look as good as it can.....and whatever his OL is, I think his present day style of play makes his OLs look worse.  So if they are garbage, he will make it super garbage.

I'd much rather Bryce shut me up this year.  While Bryce isn't my textbook QB....he is an easier human to root for.

You're in luck.Sanders highest projection is pick 4.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
