Brooks has a full practice Wed

Canales has remained very coach-speak-y about his debut, but sounds like it could/should be happening and if he's practicing in full, looks like he should be ahead of the window closing next Wed.

On Wednesday, rookie running back Jonathon Brooks was a full participant at practice, which is paving the way for him to potentially make his NFL debut on Sunday against New Orleans.

"We've got to look at him for the full week," Canales said of Brooks during his Wednesday presser, via ESPN. "Again, Jonathon first. Thinking about him, making sure that he's confident and ready to go, so we're going to stack up a few more days here before we make that decision."

still a LONG time since he has played football.  None at NFL speed.  I still wouldn't rush him into a NFL pounding.  I'd probably prefer him see a couple full weeks of practice first.

New guys, even Luke, come in completely blown away by the speed of the NFL. Expectations should be tempered, but my fantasy team is hurting for a stud RB. The Chuba train may have come to a halt.

This is the right outlook. He's going to be rusty and out of football shape. It will require a few weeks minimum for him to get back up to speed.

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
