I would say his play today was average by nfl standards. I’m factoring the defense he played against.

Definitely better than the abomination that was the first few games.

He needs to be consistent and better to be worth keeping though.

This is the 2nd most yards they've allowed to 1 QB all season. Lamar got them for 273 in a loss. He also ran all over them. But he's a different animal.

I dont think its matter of if bryce can step on a field and play pro ball at this point. Can he be good? Can he be elite? That's another questionable discussion that only a bryce stan wouldn't entertain. On a list of options he is still last for me. If I'm starting a team and I get to choose from him Sanders, ward, or maybe stroud. He is still at the bottom.

Interesting. Thanks. Maybe there is real hope.

With the game on the line over two drives, Bruce threw it away on a must make third down, threw a couple bailout DPIs, and completed clutch handoffs.

finally reached the elusive 7 ypa threshold

Dude, I hate Bryce as much as the next guy (mainly because I wanted stroud), but saying he got bailed out on that DPI when he did a great job sidestepping pressure and saw theilen open is ridiculous. Correct read, good throw, and DB had no chance but to DPI or give up a TD.

I think most of us can realize Bryce had his either 2nd best or best game of his career today and let's hope it's the beginning of something

This is realistically the second time he has had a "this is his best game as a pro" moment in nearly two full seasons. That's the definition of an anomaly until we see more of a sample size in the remaining games. We aren't even in Kyle Allen territory yet in terms of sample size.

But to his credit he is showing improvement as a passer within the structure of his game. The issue is can he ever be that kind of QB who will elevate those around him instead of needing everything to go perfectly to just throw for more than one or two touchdowns or lead his offense to 30 or more points? He's done that once in his career so far. And at the end of the day we still only put up 7 points on the board from the passing game today. The team as a whole came to play. That's progress from Canales. That's my biggest takeaway.

He absolutely had the best game of his career, and until the refs game thing drive it still netted 19 points, which is basically what he’s done his entire career.

if you just want to be helpful about an aberration and think it means he’s going to turn into something resembling what the panthers gave up for him, cool. But I’ve got his whole career backing up how I feel about him. Bryce defenders have one game and narratives.

    • Teams do some super stupid stuff with mid-fairly good QBs. I think they are just absolutely terrified they will be stuck with a QB that is not the quality of the QB they have now, even if its someone like Daniel Jones. Lots of trash QBs go in the first round. I encourage you to take a look at the sad, sad list of first round QBs in the last 15 years.
    • No, it will be a raw 6'7" 17-year-old European who just played basketball for the first time in March and who the idiot GM "had first on our board." He'll play the whole G-League season, get in 42 games for the Hornets and average 1.1 ppg on 35% shooting. Been there, seen that.
    • We missed on Burns at his peak value. That’s the problem with trading for picks 2-3 years away (which people were convinced the Rams would suck by now and these would be higher picks btw). Each year away the pick is the further in value it drops. Fitt was clearly hired based on turning us around quickly. It’s one of the many reasons tanking isn’t really a thing as our player JJ is telling you in this original article. It would take the whole organization from the owners down admitting they aren’t winning soon with Burns and picks 2-3 years away having more value because that’s when we are still rebuilding. It would only make sense if Fitt had a longer leash and would more than likely be the ones making these picks anyway which you wouldn’t want. The question is would you rather have those Rams picks with the strong possibility of Fitt still being here or would you rather Fitt try to “win now” like he did and expedite his firing? Altering the timeline would affect more than just the Rams picks.
