I kinda hate getting our pick spoiled but at least the Huddle has more Time to debate

Kelce, Olsen, Witten etc ain’t getting open for winning the genetic lottery either (not by NFL standards).

All three of those guys are absolute freak athletes. Jason Witten has the worst weight-adjusted speed out of any of them, and he still beat out 88% of all tight end prospects. Kelce: 90th percentile speed score. Olsen: 99th.

It's always possible to find a few exceptions, but it's very rare for a tight end to be productive without insane athleticism.

For that reason alone, I'd be pretty annoyed with selecting Warren at 8. You'd be betting on a huge historical outlier.

If there is anyone suggesting we are a defense away from legitimate playoff contention they are smoking some good poo. I think we should be able to compete in this pitiful division but anything else is hopium at best.

Now as far as this insistence from our FO on overvaluing Adam Thielen goes it makes me concerned for their judgment overall and if I am being harshly blunt it just sounds like Scott Fitterer logic and says they have virtually no confidence in their ability to draft receivers.

Atlanta has the potential to be pretty good and Tampa has shown that they can be above average.  Saints should be one of the worst if not worst teams in the nfl.  So I think slowly the south is getting better and if Pennix improves there should be 2 average/above average teams in the NFC in our division.  I figure we need two solid offseasons to get things right.  i think the FA signings are more for depth then contributing star power.

I was right about Luke Kuechly.  Not just the pick but bring right on the player he would be.  Same for Cam.  Which voids all my wrong 439402 picks and player projections that were disasters.  Some people don't get that.   It's just math.  2 > 439402

I've been bantering about my CMC pick for years... ya mighta noticed.

We take what victories we have and run with them. Makes life better!

me wanting Warren has a lot to do with the fact we got Bryce Young and the glaring needs he needs to be successful.  And Dave is flat out going to have to migrate to new views on passing (which I think he can).   But we will stay a bottom tier pass attack unless the weapons and calls change.  I don’t care to barely compete with a great run attack and great D in today’s NFL.  You got to build your O around your QB to really compete and be something on O in today’s NFL

At some point, we need to stop saying "if only we had X player for Bryce Young". We drafted him number 1 overall - he shouldn't need a top 10 player at every position on offense. If he does, then he isn't the guy

And if we are convinced for some reason we do need a tight end for Bryce, I want one that can stretch the field vertically down the seam. That is definitely not Warren

As much as I want Tyler Warren to be a Panther I just don't seem him making it passed the Jets.

That'd give Fields...

  • RBs: Breece Hall, Braelon Allen
  • WRs: Garrett Wilson, Malachi Corley, possibly a draft pick
  • TEs: Tyler Warren, Jeremy Ruckert

Your username is a hint of how bad you are at this. That aside.

Who is saying we need a Top 10 player at every position? Most of us are just saying Warren because he would give us that big, physical, fluid athlete at the TE position that would pair well with the style of ball Bryce likes to play.

The issue isn't whether you have good tight ends or not. Plenty of guys are good at the position. Most of them are not as fluid of athletes as you see with Kelci, and I think Warren is that kind of guy. Furthermore, it could open the field up for the rest of the offense.
