So you're saying if you are working at home and decide to go make a sandwich in the kitchen while you have family members are in the house, you lock your computer for those 5 minutes to make sure one of your own family members doesn't go and do something stupid and mess with your job?

Unless you work in the highest levels of national security or something, that would just be a bit extreme, as nobody is thinking their own son is going to do something like that (again, unless he's done things in the past to make you think he is that dumb).

It's not that difficult to lock you computer everytime you leave it.  I always have and I'm not worried about anyone looking at it

It's not about difficulty, it's just not something I'd ever even think about doing or being necessary.

And FYI, this is coming from someone with severe OCD issues when it comes to locking things.  I'll re-check/re-lock things 5-6 times before leaving sometimes because I can't help it, or even once I've left, turn around and go back to re-confirm (I have a real issue with it lol).

But locking my work computer in my own home while I go get something from the kitchen for a few minutes, it has never one time crossed my mind to do that.

Coaches aren't out in public somewhere that having a quick lock is a necessity, they likely are only using their laptop/tablet in one of 2 places, at the team facility or in their own home, so fear of someone doing this in the 2 minutes they're away from their desk is basically 0% outside of something like this happening where it was his son.

My personal laptop has about a five minute lock.

My company laptop will go about a minute and it will lock.  Same with my phone (because it has a remote access connection to my employer's network and they require it).  It is annoying, but I understand why they do it.   And I work from home.  I work in cyber threat and these are pretty standard requirements now for any major corporation. I bet they will be now for NFL teams.

I did hear a different view point that made me change my "just a prank call". Kids work extremly hard their whole life for that on call, be like getting a prank call after being on a organ transplant waiting list. The call is the most important part of many of their life's. You won the lotto, YEP, life changing money......nevermind jk bro....lollololollolz.. Im getting old...

I'm seeing on Twitter that a bunch of players received prank calls this year. I haven't seen they were all from the Ulbrich kid, but either way it's not a good look for the NFL for that many player's contact info to be in that many people's hands.

What I don't get is why it was ever necessary for a team's defensive coordinator to have that information. They're not the ones who make that call; that should be sent to the GM, who would assign whatever staff in his office to keep track of it. The assistant coaches have zero need to even have that information to begin with.

I'm guessing the league provided the contact information of all the prospects coming out this year. Once the teams have that list its probably available to all the top brass on the team. Each team has their own idea of who should have access to that information. I'm guessing the league will now set rules on who can have access to that information going forward.
