Not throwing at the combine was the giveaway

Young not participating in the combine didn't raise a red flag? No injury and no reason for not competing? You showcase your talents and prove your value. He decided to hide.

He and his family along with his handlers, decided not to take any chances. His obvious lack of physical abilities and arm strength would be on display next to the competition.

Bryce seems to be a good guy and I wish him the best in life. I blame the owner and front office for drafting him. If a top prospect doesn't want to participate in the combine and is not injured, that should tell you something.

I mean, it was but I get it. Top prospects not working out at the Combine has just become the norm. I miss the days of guys like Cam and Luke showing up and putting on a show but it is what it is. I would've loved to have seen what a guy like Travis Hunter runs but in today's environment you're never gonna find out. Hate the game, don't hate the player. The NFL is basically telling these guys they don't need to see them perform at the Combine so they're not. Since the NFL already doesn't care there's no upside for the prospect and only risk.

FALSE, he went to the combine to get his weight measured

And hid under a hoodie so they wouldn't see that he was rocking a dad bod because he porked up to weigh in as heavy as possible. Again, hate the game don't hate the player. Hell, I bet Christian McCaffrey's eyeballs were floating he was so tanked full of water when he got on those scales.

Lawrence was the last first pick qb to throw at Combine.

Ward didnt. Williams didnt. Burrow didnt throw. Murray didnt throw. Mayfield didnt throw.

Goff did.

Im not defending Bryce but not throwing is the norm for top qb prospect

My deceased father was an All-ACC End and he raised me teaching me football--I never realized how he changed my understanding of the game--however, one thing he said that I will never forget:  The measure of a good NFL QB is this:  "If your team is down by 6 or fewer points in the fourth quarter but has the ball with under two minutes and with 2 timeouts, are you favored to win?  Can he put the team on his back and drive the field for a TD more than 50% of the time?"  If we are down 14-20 and have the ball on our own 20 with 2 timeouts--does Bryce win the game more than 50% of the time?  (It rarely happens).  If not, there is no reason to keep him around.  If he gets hot and we win a few games, he will want major $$$.  While I am not blaming him, I do not see that Alpha at QB.  Sorry.  He has improved, but do we have that Alpha dawg in the huddle when the game is on the line?  That 4th down pass in the end zone tells us what he is--unfortunately.

I know I’ve got to move on, but Stroud was right there for the taking. Right there.

I don’t get how Bryce could’ve gotten away without throwing at the combine. Bro is 5’10 and weighs between 170 and 180 lbs. Yea, I need to see you throw, my guy.

Trading up for someone that wasn’t consensus #1 was ludicrous. It would have made more sense to take Richardson because at least he had the physical tools. Young’s ceiling is very low.

Young has so many physical drawbacks that he needs to be HoF in-between the ears and in his heart. Those are things you don’t know until they are tested in the regular season so I’m confused why they gambled so hard. I expected Tepper to be a lot more conservative.
