Offseason Examination : Carolina Panthers (NBC Sports)

Might be the first content I've seen from a non-Panthers source that predicted us to be even remotely competitive this season. Actually acknowledged Cam got hurt while standing in the pocket and his tendency to hold the ball too long , while most talking heads will blather on about Cam just running too much. Said CMC is very key, actually acknowledged our WRs are decent , while I've seen several videos talking about how we lost Funchess is a big blow lol. 

What do you think of this?

Pretty good assessment. Wish they brought up our young CBs though. But their overall analysis was pretty on point.

 True sports analysis, and unbiased examinations of teams is a rarity. It helps to remember that sports is entertainment, and therefore media is more concerned about hyping the popular teams, creating dramatic talking points,  and building narratives that drive views and clicks. 

This applies to essentially everything in media- news, sports, money shows, history channels, etc etc.

Agree with most of their points including that Brees might finally start to show his age. We certainly contained him in Charlotte last year.

Fairly accurate. Most rests on guys stepping up and Cam being old Cam in Norv's system. I think we are an 11-5 team if not better.

I catch his show somewhat regularly for background sound lately.  He is fairly down to earth/solid.  Doesn't make outrageous statements for sound bites.

As with every season, we are good when our key starters stay healthy.  Once the injures start to rack up, so do the loses.  The team preaches next man up, but seldom does that actually happen with much effectiveness.  It's an odd number year so there's hope!

We were a potential SB contender until Cam's arm turned to mush last year...with a shitty defense. 

IF Cam is healthy, and the defense can just be decent?  With an improved OL?  We're a playoff team for sure.

Florio is always on WNFZ radio so he does a good job at keeping up with what the Panthers are actually doing unlike the rest of the media schlubs.

I think the D sucked because Ron had Washington calling the plays. When Ron took over they gave up 18 on average

The said what I suspected, but did not hear confirmed--D Williams to G.  I have been busy--did I miss something or was that speculation?
