Rotoworld: Teddy is done in Carolina

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Panthers offered Detroit Teddy Bridgewater, the No. 8 pick, and a fifth-round pick for QB Matthew Stafford.

Schefter also added that the Lions tried to acquire Aaron Donald from the Rams but LA quickly took that option off the table. The Panthers' serious offer makes it obvious that they're in the market for a new quarterback. It also seems like they view themselves as a win-now team despite going 5-11 last year. Unless they can find someone else willing to move on from their quarterback, the Panthers are likely eying a passer with the No. 8 pick. Whoever they take may not be their first choice but it's clear that Bridgewater is not in this team's future.

Basically any trade will require Teddy to go the other way.  If not, we are drafting QB in 1st with Teddy remaining on the team.

I’m worried that we may reach for a QB in the draft rather than go after our guy(s) if we can’t find a trade partner.

You shouldn’t worry about that. There are 4-5 qbs that are top 10 worthy. No reaching unless all gone.

Yeah. No surprise. Kinda funny since they had Teddy on their Twitter after he won the good guy award and we are actively trying to get rid of him.

Sportsmanship award.  What the hell is that?  Like being on the "Clean Plate Club" in the cafeteria during elementary school.  "Hey Teddy.  You lost a bunch of games but you were a good sport about it.  Here is a medal."

You guys not wanting to spend much to solve our QB problem are gonna be disappointed no matter how this shakes out. We’re about to spend big on Watson or moving up in the draft.

Also, what makes people think that if we build other areas first, that we will even have a chance to get our franchise QB? There's no guarantee that you'll be able to get one in the future. Get one while you can.

The best 4 QBs in the league this year were also the last 4 playing. Despite all of their teams except probably Tampa having numerous obvious holes in the roster.

a legitimate MVP QB is the greatest equalizer maybe in all of sports. Its like having the best goalie in hockey or the best pitcher in baseball. Doesnt matter who youre playing as long as you got that guy youre always gonna have a chance to win. Always felt that way when Cam was in his prime and healthy
