We literally have a QB playing out of his mind and frankly he carried the offense today (we averaged just under 3 yards per carry rushing).

 

I'll take a pick where he's trying to make something happen and he gets bumped so it fails once a game if he keeps this up. Granted, he has only played the Jets and a hobbled Saints D, but he looks damn good with the majority of his decision making, which is encouraging.

That was a rookie mistake.  He looks like a rookie out there and a very good one at that.  Kid is young enough to learn and develop into a good player if he holds up.  I'm happy they decided to start over with him in his development.

I appreciate QBs that don't let occasional turnovers rattle them.  

Turnovers are gonna happen, it's part of the game.

let's not go crazy.  he's a low to mid level game manager letting the talented skill position players carry the offense on a team led by the strength of the defense, and he's being paid like one for that reason, which is GOOD.  we don't want him trying to carry the team

Darnold looked really good today. The only thing I wish he would stop doing is trying to throw passes in such tight coverage at times. Those needling thread passes stress me out to watch in real time! lol

Darnold certainly looks like a competent QB, and hopefully will only get better.

Rhule likes what he's seen enough from Darnold for the rebuilding Panthers to trade for him.

"We were sitting there one day on defense, and I can't remember (exactly) what we were watching, we were watching a cut up, and Sam was playing on the other side of the ball, and a couple times he made some throws, and Phil Snow, our defensive coordinator, was like, 'Man, that kid looks like Matt Stafford.' And so, we put a couple games on – and this is the defensive staff -- and they were all like, 'You know what, every game we watch, he makes a couple of big-time plays, and there has to be some meat on the bone there,' " Rhule said. True, but if you had to pick a quarter to win, the 3rd would likely be 3rd or 4th most important, right? 1st and 4th definitely higher.  2nd vs 3rd is debatable.

The fumble/interception looked awful if you view it through the Moose lens, but when you see a defender grab his arm while he is trying to pitch the ball, it makes me feel much better.  Overall, other than that play, he did a terrific job.  Best slant passer we have had in over 20 years.  Jake and Cam through the ball so high that our YAC was always terrible, except for Smitty and his extra efforts.
