Is this the best Panthers pass rush in franchise history?

In terms of getting pressure, this year has been great so far.  But its going to get much tougher as we roll along.  We will be facing better lines and better qb's.  I don't think we will set any records.  But we could still end up being very good at getting pressure.

As an aside, the most impressive thing has been getting pressure, while still managing to cover the receivers.  What remains to be seen is how much the injuries in the secondary will impact us.  Hopefully, the impact will be minimal.

I can't say it's the best pass rush as to me that defaults to front 4.

I'd have to give that to years past, now as far as GETTING PRESSURE, this is the best we've ever seen as we remind me more of the Jets under Rex Ryan.

Jaycee (once healthy) and Henderson have shutdown skill sets / potential -- so we're looking at a newer Revis / Cromartie (no I am not calling them that yet, just setting up the vision that I see developing).

Then with Jackson, Bouye (under contract next year), and the depth we can match up against really anyone. Now pair in two of the FASTEST guys off the edge in Burns / Reddick, then the interior with Brown, Jones, Roy, Nixon, and additional edge depth from Luvu, Haynes, and the kid from Buffalo we can throw waves at opposing teams all game.

Not to mention we bring the ILB's, and the Safeties, and corners off the edge to blitz as well, if you go back and watch you'll see Jaycee in the slot blitzing vs NO, and HOU. You can also go back to Henderson's time at FL and see he spent time in the slot, and also blitzed of the edge from there as well.

This is BECOMING the most talented defense as a whole, we've always had a stud or two and JAGS, now we have several studs + good proven players.

I'm excited to see what this becomes, it's just year 2.

Just a little too soon to say. Not fair to either the greats of the past (2003 in particular), nor to the current team. Let's not add any weight to their backs before they've really made a name for themselves.

Only three games in now, there's a long way to go, a lot to prove and hopefully some things to marvel over that we hadn't imagined yet.

    • We won 5 with the worst defense in the history of defenses.  I think free agency and our draft puts us over 6.5.
    • Leaning towards just ordering this tonight, but now I have no idea on size. Has anyone bought a bunch of jerseys in the last few years and can convey how the Game vs Limited vs Reebok versions all fit? These are both Mediums... The white one here is a Reebok one from 2010, and was when they had the "+2 length" on the tag and it was the version with the stitched numbers instead of iron on... the blue one is from 2022 and is the F.U.S.E Limited version also with stitched stuff, not the "game jersey" with the ironed on numbers/letters that they have the T-Mac jerseys in. The old one fits me fine, the blue one was always a tad snug on me, particularly in the shoulders I'm leaning going with a Large based on the CMC, but for all I know, that is made with a tighter cut due to the higher "limited" level and the "game" ones they have for T-Mac are cut more like a T-Shirt and thus will fit more like the old white one I have here, not sure. (and yes, I already tried going to a sporting goods store here to hopefully try on a Lions jersey to see, but they don't have any right now)
    • I think there's a ton of potential in that WR room. But they really are unproven right now. Hopefully they live up to the hype.
