Are you sold on Matt Rhule?

I echo the getting there..

He had the hardest start for any HC in NFL history last year. That team lost close to 60% of the snaps and stats, not to mention the leadership. Besides a few quarters, they were in every game til the end. Major props for that feat. Now with one of the youngest team hes got them 3-0 with never being behind currently.

My main worry is Rhule getting to the smelly his farts smug ego levels or leaves for ________ . He is a great follow to John Fox 1&2, sick of the archaic 20 years they had that beyond ran its course. I enjoy watching panther football again, same for last season too.

Watson was all Tepper.

Stafford is more of a short term move imo as I clarified what I meant in a later post. I was talking about drafting a qb in the first round and dealing with growing pains. The anology was if rhule was the head coach of kc with Alex smith I don’t think he drafts Mahomes.

I think the Darnold trade demonstrated they will take on a young QB that needs development. Darnold isn't a rookie, but he is young and needs development... He isn't in the same category as Fields in terms of what development he needs but it isn't as if Rhule was only after veteran or proven commodities at QB.

Time will tell if Rhule would draft someone like Mahomes if needed / opportunity arises, but he has demonstrated that he values building the team with young players as well as vets so I think that's possible.

Darnold is a 3 year vet. Teddy was a vet. These are much different situations then developing a rookie qb out of college. Darnold showed he could play above average in between his disastrous showings. Yes he needs continued development but he’s ran pro systems and was use to nfl speed. They aren’t the same as bringing in a rookie imo. He’s had two drafts to pick a qb. First one reports are he wanted to trade down and draft Henderson. When we could’ve attempted to trade up and draft Herbert. This one we passed on a couple prospects. I think my logic is sound. That he prefers a vet over a rookie drafted in the first round.

yes time will tell...I was just giving my opinion.

So far so good....

* I like the fact he he's coached almost every position group and really has a feel for the team and what areas we need to improve

* Seems to have a eye for talent along with Fitts

* Has a vision for consistent sustained success aka "the process "

* Relates well to the players and they seem to be buying in

HOWEVER he will not get my official stamp of approval until he has back to back winning seasons.

How’s he Carolina’s best coach when he hasn’t achieved anything major yet?

Because he’s the best at coaching. The question isn’t “most successful”, it’s the best. And Rhule can coach rings around Rivera and I’d also take him over Fox, our two most successful coaches. For example, if Rhule had been our coach in 2015, with THAT roster, there’s no doubt in my mind we’d have been 19-0.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
