Smitty puts the blame yesterday all on the OL

Mahomes got pressured at a similar rate in the Super Bowl as Darnold yesterday.

Chiefs immediately

traded their 1st for a LT

signed the top OG in FA

signed another former probowl all pro OG

drafted the top Center in the draft in the 2nd

drafted several other OL as some have pointed out in Trey Smith.

Now why the heck would the team with the best QB in football invest so dam much on the OL in this offseason if a “Elite QB can overcome bad OL play” like some fans in this franchise claim.

Comparing Mahomes to Darnold is like comparing a Ferrari to a Mustang. The line matters but so does the QB's ceiling. How about both matter? Even Cam couldn't overcome one awful lineman in the SB against a very good team. That is not the Eagles in week 5 this year. Don't tell me Mahomes couldn't have overcome the Eagles this year with his line from last year.

We got 2 injury prone duds in free agency and a 3rd round LT who can't play LT and an OG who cant be active when there was 3 years of tape stating what Sam can't do. How the hell do we look comparable to KC on offense other than opposite day fun time?

I guess they forgot what happened to Cam in the SB as well...or nearly every game after it.  Short memories up in here.

Of course he did. He is a Darnold apologist.

No just calling a spade a spade.

not apologizing for his play.  He didn’t have his best game.  Just looking at the situation around him and how other QBs (including elite ones) in his same situation.  How would they fare in his shoes.

some people on here think this is Madden and just because a guy has a 99 rating he can overcome anything when reality he can’t

It just makes you wonder what in the hell was going through Fitts mind going after Elfein and Irving day 1. I like a lot of what he has done, but those 2 moves make me wonder wtf every week. I just hope we are able to trade back and get some interior linemen this draft unless a franchise LT falls to us.

i mean the seahawks haven't exactly fielded a stellar offensive line in recent memory...could just be more of the same here

Everything went wrong. If Sam didn't turn into Jets Sam we win. If the o-line played better, we win. If the defense played better, we win. Hell even the special teams pooped the bed with the punt block.

Sam is not going to elevate this team. Sam can drive the bus down the road, but he can't get out and push it. The rest of the team has make Sam look better and relieve him of the pressure and burden of trying to make a lot of throws. You don't want him attempting a lot of throws because that's when the INTs are likely to show up. We basically have to dominate the other team in all areas, and then Sam will steer the ship into the harbor. When it's a dogfight and we're struggling I expect Sam to destroy his underwear with a Taco Bell style accident.

it’s weird to me the cam stans still here pretending to be Panther fans that bitched about cam’s oline for a decade can somehow twist years of bitching cam had no oline into Sam needs to do better with an oline worse than cam ever had in 9 years, worse than all 9 years averaged, and the worst in franchise history

very…interesting…and telling

yall aren’t fooling anyone

it’s their fault we have a CFL caliber interior OL?

before you say, get bettererer guyz!!!!

who? fittz has said he’s looking. what more do you want?

Rhule talked about he wanted to get younger and better at OL after last season. A year later, we are actually worse.

    • What?!?!?! Chark's 1,000 yard season was 4 years before he played for us and he only had 525 yards in 15 games as our #1 WR.  Dude has 3,100 yards in 7 seasons, he's the literal definition of a JAG and you think he is better than half our current WR room? T-Mac is literally already better than Chark was at his peak, which again, was years before he ever even put on a Panthers uniform, and there is a real argument to be made that XL and Coker were both better as rookies than Chark was for us in his one season here.
    • Im glad we're starting low. It's nonsensical to put us at 28 IMHO based on objective things IMHO (I think 21-24) is far more appropriate but whatever. Washington was at the bottom last year FWIW.  In 2003, Sports Illustrated said our best chance to win the division was to transfer to the ACC. In 2015, everyone wrote us off as a team that snuck into the playoffs with a losing record in 2014 and lost our best WR in TC (Kelvin Benjamin). All these videos are fodder for conversation, but this prediction has no more validity than saying the Panthers are making the SB bc we're starting the season against the Jaguars again. If Bryce plays like he did down the stretch we will end up the season just fine. This roster is much better than it has been the last 2 seasons. No one knows who any season will ultimately end up, but this team is finally being built in the right way, and the idea that this roster can't compete this year is as insane as being it was when we were gaslit in 2023 that we were a rookie QB from winning the division with that roster.
