Chris Simms: People have caught on to the Panthers offense.

This same Chris Simms?

Quote

"I'm excited about Sam Darnold. We're going to get answers about Sam Darnold this year. When I went back and watched him, there's still plenty to like. Let's not be unrealistic. What did we really expect from Sam Darnold in that offense? That's the first thing I want to tell people that want to go 'You have him at 19? Did you see their offense or their record last year?' Okay, well where did it go wrong? Was it throwing to Braxton Berrios as your main target? Or throwing to Chris Hogan who is playing lacrosse and he was your main target for a few weeks? Like, come on. If you're surrounded by s--t, you're going to look like s--t every now and then. That is the problem with Sam Darnold. They [New York] never gave him support. But Darnold, to me, still has all of the physical attributes to be a big-time, franchise quarterback. I see it. I don't care about the results and the stats and the wins. I can see it. He is awesome in the pocket. He scrambles within the pocket which is rare. It's almost like Big Ben back in his prime where he used to just move around the pocket. Sam Darnold has a little of everything to his football game. We just haven't been able to see it because they don't support him. He hasn't had that. But you heard me say, quick release, phenomenal intermediate thrower. I thought he got better at deep ball throwing last year. I think he is really damn good in the pocket. Like really damn good. He's tough. He can throw under pressure. Now, we're going to see some pieces around him to really prove my point. At least that's what I hope we see because he was given no f---ing chance with the Jets the last few years."

Rhule was the OC at Temple while he was HC, so he actually has more experience than Brady does. As to if he is an upgrade....eh....I get the feeling like we will soon find out.

I get it. Brady's upside is pretty big, not so sure about Rhule's offense abilities. I just didn't get the sense of the O that Rhule ran as being all that great but at this point maybe it's a step forward.

I just don’t see how Rhule and Brady make it out of this season if things keep going the way they are.  This is the worst shitshow we have ever had here and that’s saying something

And still 10 games to go. I didn't expect it to be a poo show this early.

Yall remember when people on this board were saying we didn't open up the playbook against the Jets or the Saints because we didn't need to to win. 😂

They aren't confident in Darnold and haven't been the entire season. No amount of coach talk will change that.

The picked up his 5th year option before even seeing him in practice. Somebody should be fired for that.

He's got great ideas, I'm sure. He just sucks at coordinating an offense that works with the tools he has. His offensive scheme depends on him being in an ideal situation with an ideal QB. That's not what he's got and he's got to figure out how to make it work.

No OC in the league could make this work. I had issues with some of Brady’s situational playcalling but he is scheming people open on a regular basis.

everything that a certain segment of this fanbase said cam was; inaccurate and dumb is actually what Darnold is. He is without a doubt the dumbest qb in the league.

I would be interested to see something different only to see if the issue is Brady. We may very well find out the issue is only Darnold or we may find out Rhule is far worse. At this point....I just want to see something different.

call up James Morgan from the PS and see what he can do lol. In all seriousness I hope rhule does take over playcalling so he can see up close and personal how much Darnold fuging sucks and wallow in that exactly how Brady has had to wallow in their past 2 qbs. If I were Brady I’d be getting out of this org ASAP before they try to ruin my reputation.
