If we tear it all down again how long would it take...

If we hit on a QB whether that be Cam/Darnold with a competent scheme or a top 10 pick, spend money on the OL, retain Gilmore and Reddick, everyone stay healthy and most importantly get someone who can coach and scheme through adversity were in the playoffs next year.

If we won half the close games we lost the last 2 years we're in the playoffs both years.

We simply aren't that far off talent wise and every issue we have resolves around our coaching vs talent.

When Rhule/Tepper said this was a 5 year rebuild that should have been a red flag

just off the top of my head in recent memory

-Rams went from 1st overall pick to Super Bowl with 2 years in between

-49ers went from 2nd overall pick to Super Bowl the next season

-Cardinals went from 1st overall pick to leading their division as of today with 2 years in between

-Bengals went from 1st overall pick to leading their division as of today with 1 year in between

-Browns went from 1st overall pick to divisional round with 2 years in between

The only thing I will say is most of those teams did that by mortgaging their future and forcing a very small winning window.   Not all of them, for example the Bengals.  If you want to make a team that has a chance to win for a long time it usually takes more time.

It depends.....

Is there a team dumb enough to make a Hershel Walker type trade for the oft injured CMC?

Probably not, however I think with the right leadership, some luck, it can happen fast.

If we stay the course with Matt Rhule, and he actually adapts and learns to coach at the NFL Level? Then 3 plus years, but we could possibly get years of stability and success from that. Thats a BIG IF he evolves.

Or go grab someone else and get it done in 2 years, but then wonder when that guy takes the next bigger job after a successful quick turnaround with a franchise in shambles.

The way I see it, a coach's job is only secure as how well your QB is playing.

So lets say we tear it all down..fire rhule. We hire the next big thing coach..hit on most of our draft picks the next 2 years. How long realistically would it take to get back the to superb owl?

How far away are we with our core and good coaching?

Would you be ok with going through a losing season next year as long as rhule is gone to get a good pick?

What is best case scenario W-L record for our potential rookie coach next year?

What would be your first steps as new coach?

Depends on if you do it every 2 years? If we do… Detroit style. If you have faith, maybe another year or two?

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
