Anyone still trust Tepper at this point?

People have to earn my trust, I rarely give it out.

Tepper not only failed to earn my trust, he likely made it impossible to ever earn my trust.

He has not made a single good decision since he became the owner of the Panthers.

Please don't say "got rid of the shield", that is complete BS that only weirdo fans would appreciate.

I agree with all of this. He’s the worst owner in the league by a wide margin.

It is ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. If he keeps Rhule he hasn’t learned a thing so I would no longer trust him with any football and coaching decisions.

I disagree so much with this mantra.

You can make mistakes, no doubt....but to be fooled, that's differnet.

He was bamboozled by one of the worst GM's of the last 3 decades, and a college coach from a non powerhouse.

That's not just making mistakes, that's all but intentionally sinking your business.  If this were an actual business, the stock price would be tumbling.

Does it really matter? It's not like he can be fired from ownership of the team. Heck, Washington's owner is accused of doing much, much more than Richardson did and no one is moving to remove him and force a sale.

If anything, it makes the Richardson sale of the Panthers look a bit contrived, a way for Richardson to sell out without making a mess out of minority partners or perhaps a suit from his heirs to rest control of the team.

In the end, I don't think Tepper has made many right decisions here. He seems more interested in investing money into the team, the amenities, the surrounding areas to those amenities and a frikkin' soccer team. What he isn't investing, it appears, is much time or intellect into understanding the fan base or professional football. In short, he's a modern billionaire... he knows how to reap profits, but doesn't really care about planting the seeds for tomorrow's harvest.

Yes but people aren’t gonna be happy till we start winning.

Dave let’s football people be football people and he made a mistake but alas it can be fixed.

We aren’t 20 years into this thing it’s only year 4 and his first coach hiring too.

poo away but the dude wants to win but he’s also not as hands on as you think.

There's a learning curve, I'm sure, but he's got a ways to go to get over it.

Long term I think he'll be fine, but right now he's got Rhule in his ear after having Hurney in his ear. These are not good voices to be listening to.

Step back and see it for what it really is .... A losing team that is going to take way too long to get to an assumed result.

Fire this guy and don't listen to anyone who says they have a long range plan to get the team on top. They get you your ring in 4 years max or they aren't ever going to do it. They have you winning in 2 or your team is going to continue in mediocrity.

Hindsight is 20/20 but imagine having Jones or Fields right now and no money/draft capital tied up in Darnold lol. We would have millions and more picks to address the oline and rest of the team. Now we’re going to be paying Darnold and Bridgewater and still be without a viable starter at QB. fuging yikes. By the time Rhule fixes the oline, our young starts will likely be past their prime and unaffordable. This team is fuged.

Let's review David Tepper's miscues on the football side of things to date:

- kept Marty Hurney in place
- let Marty have a hand in picking the head coach
- hired Matt Rhule
- gave Rhule a big contract and full power
- has tried to move away from the "keep pounding" mantra

And as if those weren't bad enough, Tepper is currently expected to keep Rhule around for another year despite his being an utter disaster of a head coach.

Oy 😖

So in the light of all this ineptitude, I'm curious. After seeing him make dumb decision after dumb decision regarding the direction of the franchise, how many people still have faith in David Tepper as the Panthers owner?

Is your answer dependent on whether or not he keeps Matt Rhule?

The first day he walked into his owner’s office and chose to retain not only Marty Hurney but also “Mo”Ron Rivera, he lost any trust I might have for him.

Every move he’s made since has only confirmed my initial reaction.

    • My projection. I think at WR its time to go with youth. This means Moore should be the odd man out. Horn can return both punts and kicks and Tremayne is a better WR than Moore. XL gets one more year to prove himself, although I could see a trade in the future which would mean Moore could stay. For OL, I would like us to bring back Brady if we can. The RBs, Trevor can return both punts and kicks too. With the uncertainty of Brooks and Dillon, its hard to choose either one. I think the team would like for Brooks to have a breakout season to clear any uncertainty that he deserves a spot. For now, I have them both even and on the team. DL looks solid as well as OLB. Watch out for the UDFA of Aaron Hall and Isaiah Smith at OLB. They look promising and could knock someone off the team. ILB is still the biggest weakness on the team. We need to upgrade that any means necessary. CB is strong and Im praying to all the Gods that Wheatley beats out Scott at FS.  OFFENSE: WR: Tetairoa McMillan - *Chris Brazzell II* - Brycen Tremayne TE: Tommy Tremble - James Mitchell LT: #Rasheed Walker# - *Monroe Freeling* LG: Damien Lewis C- #Luke Fortner# - *Sam Hecht* RG: Robert Hunt - #Saahdiq Charles# RT: Taylor Moton - #Stone Forsythe# TE: Ja`Tavion Sanders - Mitchell Evans WR: Xavier Legette - Jalen Coker - Jimmy Horn Jr. QB: Bryce Young - #Kenny Pickett# RB: Chuba Hubbard - Trevor Etienne - #AJ Dillon# - Jonathon Brooks DEFENSE: LE: Tershawn Wharton - Bobby Brown III  NT: *Lee Hunter* - Cam Jackson RE: Derrick Brown - LaBryan Ray LOLB: Nic Scourton - Patrick Jones II  LILB: Trevin Wallace - Bam Martin-Scott - *Jackson Kuwatch* RILB: #Devin Lloyd# - Claudin Cherrelus  ROLB: #Jaelen Phillips# - Princely Umanmielen LCB: Jaycee Horn - Akayleb Evans RCB: Mike Jackson - *Will Lee III* - Chau Smith-Wade SS: Tre`von Moehrig - Lathan Ransom FS:  Nick Scott - *Zakee Wheatley* - Demani Richardson  SPECIAL TEAMS: K/KO: Ryan Fitzgerald P/H: Sam Martin KR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. PR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. LS: J.J. • His contract is guaranteed.  Legette is just not where he needs to be mentally.  Not fully invested, it seems.
    • Literally like Hill. He's not QB1 material (now or ever), but if we can turn him into a H-back and use him like  Swiss army knife, that's his ticket to make the roster.  H-back/emergency QB.  I wonder how good his hands are?  If they are at least above average by NFL standards then we can line him up in the backfield, in the slot, split out wide and of course, in the Wildcat.
