Because we turned the ball over so much on short fields not a lot of yardage for defense to defend. That’s why total yards is complete bullshit unless the O in the metric doesn’t turn over the ball at all(see 2015, and if they did it was usually in the opponents red zone).

 

Points should be the top defense number.
