Believe so, but he may have improved in that regard.  Also may not be as much a problem for an OC.

I'm actually surprised because this is the kind of move that could actually save the offense, although I expect it won't happen (him taking the job or being able to rehab the shitstain we call an O). Certainly better than the other options we've heard about, anyway.

I don't want any of the Grudens anywhere near this franchise.

The dude was the Jags OC when they went 1-15. The 3 years he was with the Bengals he started with a rookie AJ Green and Andy Dalton. Granted Dalton isn't exactly a world beater, but he also had Andrew Whitworth in their prime on the OL.

As underwhelming as the other options might be, this one is just bad.

They're all bad. It's this or the guy who couldn't win more than 3 games in a season at ECU.

So is Gruden the best man for the job when compared to the other 6 who have interviewed?

IMO I might put Getsy and Kubiak ahead of him (maybe Kelly too), but he does have more coaching experience and OC experience than most of the other candidates. I think that was the main criteria Rhule said he wanted.

Well if he doesn't bring Watson with him then sure, why not.

He is easy to not like and that makes it easier for me to keep laughing at this mess and the shmear job being done. The only good candidates won't even take an interview so we are talking about getting at best the top of the dregs.

      I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.

      I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.

      I'd give anything to go back to a 4-3 but we are so removed from having the pieces for that. All because Tepper wanted to force this 3-4 on all our coaches.
