Ben McAdoo and it's not even close.

Yea no way is Brady better.

The fact is having a lame duck HC who no one respects or wants to work with is what shot down the real candidates so its the situation that just keeps on giving

Joe Brady’s biggest flaw was his lack of  experience as a play caller on the pro level. He was more of an offensive assistant/passing game coordinator with New Orleans and LSU respectively. Contrast that with McAdoo, who has years of experience in various offensive roles and has worked with future HOF QBs in Manning and Rodgers and the choice is obvious. His stint as a HC and eye for personnel (he really banged the table for the Giants to draft Mahomes) is a bonus.

An unspectacular hire but a solid one. We’d be fooling ourselves thinking a Bill O’Brien, Pep Hamilton or someone else of notoriety would eagerly come here under the current coaching and personnel situation.

Fine. Honestly it's fine. Of all the candidates available, Ben McAdoo was definitely one of them.

The real test will be obtaining the quality pieces on the offensive side of the ball, particularly on the line. What we have right now, no one can step into the OC role and succeed. If we get them, I have no reason to think McAdoo can't be successful.

Question- Would you rather have Joe Brady or Ben Mcadoo?

No not picking, choose one...

Id pick Joe Brady again....ugh

I pick Ben.. Brady didn't even call plays in college... Brady may have been the most inexperienced person to ever get a OC job...

all things considered, might be the worst offensive coordinator hire in panthers history.

Obviously shula, maybe jeff davidson, but given where the team is and what we know about mcadoo, this is a joke.

Regardless, Ben is now the most NFL capable coach working for the Panthers organization.

    • Names I'd keep an eye on... Coby White,  Jalen Suggs, Amen Thompson  and Stephen Castle...  3 teams except Orlando has checked on Melo before and rumblings of sours getting rid of fox too. I'd think they think Melo and Wemby would make them nuclear out west.
    • Well he somehow had 12 preseason carries for not playing. He also has 20 carries in the regular season, not three. He has actually played in about 7% of the offensive snaps for this regular season(33% of the special teams snaps). This isn't stuff you have to make up, these are very easily referenced statistics, man.
    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
