We've got cap room now, despite the terrible move to pick up Sam's 5th year option. It appears that we now have people in the building that can manipulate the cap year to year, better than the old regimes. Now we just need a coach.

With no long term QB that we know of worth a damn under contract...this is a shame.

Get your QB...that's first, but if there isn't one, build like hell through the draft.  Solidify the defense, O Line, and get a couple weapons while keeping your cash on the side...some powder dry.

Then, once you have your QB, you have a well built team, a QB under contract long term, and a pile of cash to plug the holes to get ready to have a playoff team.

We do the opposite.

NFL football is played in the present, we will worry about next seasons cap next season. Yall do this every year and nothing bad ever really happens.
