Let’s talk some Ickey at LT

Missed the game today, fortunately. Heard some talk on FNZ about Ickey getting abused but didn’t really get into specifics, just said he’s making the wrong reads and really struggling.

Y’all think there’s any possibility Rhule pulls him and inserts his 2021 fave Cam Erving?

If he gets pulled, which at this point he shouldn’t because this team isn’t making the playoffs so there’s really not a better situation for him to learn in, then Christensen would be the LT.

If Rhule trots Cam Erving out on to that field then Mayfield should have him arrested for attempted murder.

I dunno but I played 18 holes in the wind-driven raining mountains of Maine today and sounds like that somehow was still more enjoyable than watching this team play football under Matt Rhule.

Abused? Yeah that’s a major stretch. He’s taking his lumps as a rookie playing the hardest position on the line. He looked decent today minus 2 plays I can think of

Just a rookie learning the ropes and taking his lumps.

If he's going to be our LT let him get in all the snaps this year because he'll be learning on the job.  This is my preference and I think the optimal decision.

If Rhule continues to be coach though I wouldn't be surprised to see Christensen at LT and Ickey slotted at LG.  This is a foolish move because it won't allow Ickey to develop and he's supposed to be a franchise LT at the draft position he was taken.

Honestly, Ickey only had two really bad plays today: 1) He completely blew a blitz pickup on a safety who shot to the inside of him untouched and got an easy sack on a big down and 2) He had an abhorrent false start on a 4th down attempt that resulted in us having to punt.

And tbh, file it under the completely unexpected but our biggest issues in pass pro appear to be between Elflein, Corbett, and Moton, but mostly Corbett and Moton.  Moton was complete ass today and Corbett has looked bad and easily replaceable for 2 weeks.

Would've thought the BC/Ickey side would be the one causing the most issues for us.  Nope.  It's the vets.  

We should just be glad that Thibodeaux didn't play.  We were getting embarrassed by fringe NFL guys.
