Is Carolina just unlucky?

How is it working out for the Steelers and Denver then? Steelers being the luckiest team in the NFL yet are a losing team and the bottom of the AFC North.

Steelers are probably ~5 spots higher in power rankings than they would be if unlucky.

Broncos have a QB who has one of the worst red zone QBRs ever this year. Also, the “luck chart” should account for injuries to starters. No doubt Javonte going down hurt their results this season.

Giants being the luckiest adds up at a glance.  They are definitely out performing as a team this year.

They were clearly a paper tiger from the beginning. I know Bill Parcels loved to say you are what your record says you are, and while that's true practically speaking, your record is not always a reflection of the true quality of a team. The Giants were never going anywhere this year. Even if they get in the playoffs, they're no threat.

Good teams are lucky. Bad teams aren’t.

Anyone remember 2015 against the Bucs when a player fumbled into the air and another player, I think it was the TE, not Greg, literally caught it in stride and ran for a TD.
Stuff like that happens to good teams.

Dickson right?

    • On offense, QB and RB are a thing. QB needs to improve a fair amount, and the RBs have me unsure if they can match last year’s level. Brooks being the big mystery. It seems like they think he is good to go, they didn’t do that much to add insurance.    You have to think the defense will be better. We are young in a lot of places and can hope for some growth from a few guys, as the season progresses. Plus Phillips and Lloyd are on another level compared to who was out there for us last year.    I think other teams in our division helped themselves too though. Every single one of them picked in front of us for three days and took players we might have taken over who was there for us.
    • ??? Trevin is a lot of things, but slow is not one of them.
    • I'm holding out hope for Wallace and I feel like Dan wants this LB to hit. I still feel like Edgerrin Cooper was "their guy" and he got sniped from the FO. They also chose Wallace over Payton Wilson, so I think there's some ego there from the former LB. I also think Wallace has had some pretty mid partners the past two years. Josey, Rozeboom, and a bunch of PS/journeymen haven't helped his case.  We probably thought he could be "the guy" at ILB but he's shown that's not the case. Now the question is, can he be a "Robin" to Lloyd's "Batman".  As for Cherillus, I like him as a depth guy and have never thought of him as a starter. He flashed a number of times last year. Bam Martin-Scott is another depth/PS guy that we drafted with the hopes he could step up given the opportunity. He's the exact same build, 2 years younger than Cherelus and produced similar stats last year.  Iron sharpens iron. Let's go gents....time to step up or show yourself out.
