Scott fitterer has been here a while now, if he still doesn’t believe there is a QB worth drafting then he just needs to be fired and replaced with someone who understands what it takes to win football games

Lol...there isnt where we pick from and there isnt one worth what it would take to move up.

#1 is between him and Maye. I'd give the advantage to Williams since he's won the Heisman and goes to the bigger football school.

Williams is the closet prospect I’ve seen to Mahomes/Allen and he can do things they cannot. Unreal arm talent. I like Maye but this isn’t close imo.

I prefer to wait for #QB2025 or #QB2026. Gotta keep kicking that QB can down the road. It is the Way.

Also, didn’t Fitt say something to the tune of the team was going to get sexy or some sh*t this offseason, hinting that they were going to make moves to win now. There is no Drake Maye or Caleb Williams coming here, as the team will not be bad enough.

This franchise is so confusing, man. We’re going to continue to do what we’ve been doing, and next year we’ll get the same results.

Ah yes...lets wait on the class next year cuz its so much better. Cant miss prospects! But wait...if they are cant miss than WHO IS GOING TO TRADE with you to get one? More importantly,  what if the other teams that also need a QB decide to WAIT or just get a stop gap guy next year because you cant Possibly think we are the only team thats gonna wait as if we are smarter than everybody else plus those teams have a worse roster than us so we wont be picking ahead of them. I cringe at people who think this is some sort of actual strategy.

Maybe whoever we hire will get the most out of whatever JAG we get at QB, if we don’t draft a QB.
Then we move up next year, maybe?

We aren’t getting Carr. Too expensive and IMO he is mid and not worth the money.

In fairness, we can make some "win now" moves and lead to us winning.

Really, we are a good HC and a decent QB away from being NFC South favorites.

Now, a great team?? That is gonna take some more building.

Playing devil's advocate:

It's possible to realize you need a QB, realize your best bet is through the draft, and at the same time genuinely not believe any of the qb's in the current draft are the answer. Whether this is what's happening is anyone's guess, but them saying they don't like the current qb crop doesn't automatically mean they want to keep going after garbage FA options. they could have finally realized they need to draft one, then looked at this draft class and made a face. historically there have been entire drafts with no franchise qb in them, even when that fact wasn't recognized at the time.

It’s not that none of them are the answer, it’s that the 2 or 3 who could be the answer will be off the board by the time we pick and the cost to move up as many spots as we would need to from pick 9 is prohibitive. But hey, at least we won a few games so we can do this all again next year.

And the opposite is a sound strategy?

Trading the farm to move up for QB's that nobody else wants to trade the farm for is a smart idea?

That's what everyone keeps missing, I fully understand the argument about needing to finally go out there and spend what it takes to get a franchise QB, but if the QB's in this draft were that elite of prospects, then the Bears would be taking one of them and trading fields, not the other way around.

It's literally the same argument that everyone is using against Wilks right now, if no other teams want to even ask to be allowed to interview him, then why would we want to hire him so badly ourselves?

So, in saying this…how are we going to ever get a franchise/elite QB? You mention if the QBs were elite, the bears and teams up front would be taking them. If we’re a middle of the pack team, then how do we get those elite QBs now and in the future?
