Doesn’t matter what people say Wilks fanatics will always have excuses. Gonna be interesting how you guys spin it isn’t his fault if he is hired and falls on his face in 2023.

Facts are excuses.  Lmfao. Plus I'm not exactly a Wilks fanatic.

At this point I think it’s Denver or back to Fox. If he was wanting Carolina it would’ve been done by now

It’s really going to come down to Steichen or Wilks for us.

If Payton is demanding full control, I can't understand why he'd even do the interview with Arizona. They just hired their GM like last week.

What I wanted was for an actual organized thread instead of everyone talking in circles saying the same poo which was the reason I thought the other was locked and this one was made.

But you know that question is most likely going to be asked.

I doubt it.  Fitterer even said after this season that last years draft was a "nuts and bolts" draft and never mentioned Corral I dont think.  The question I'm sure that came up is what would you want to do to fix the qb problem.  Not, can you fix corral?

Actually, Steichen came from the Norv Turner tree and there is rumblings of him and Scott Turner joining forces

I think I'd be content with Steichen as HC with Turner as OC and Fangio as DC. I was listening to The Athletic Football Podcast this morning and they were talking about how Turner has been saddled with poo QBs his entire tenure as an OC:

  • 24 games with Taylor Heinicke
  • 7 games with Carson Wentz
  • 6 with hobbled Alex Smith
  • 6 with Dwayne Haskins (RIP)
  • 6 with Kyle Allen
  • 2 with Will Grier
  • 1 (partial) with Garrett Gilbert
  • 1 with Ryan Fitzpatrick
  • 1 rookie 5th round pick Sam Howell

He's coached 54 games as an OC and never once had a true NFL starting QB. Podcast below (Turner discussion starts around 57 minute mark).

Also good thoughts at the top on the HC openings and basically have Texans (due to draft capital and ability to grab your QB) ranked first with Panthers second (much better roster and an owner committed to spending on a winner). Said if the Panthers had a 2nd 1st round pick instead of Texans, Carolina would be far and away the best opening.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
