Pass was uncatchable. You don't throw a flag at that point in the game.

In every sport there is a saying "don't make the call at the end of the game"

This like Lebron getting a foul called on a game winning shot. Some calls you just don't make.

Not how a holding call works. Very big difference. They called it a hold so it did not matter if the ball was thrown elsewhere even after the hold occured.

This whole idea that you shouldn't call the penalty there is the problem.

If this is a penalty week 1 in the 1st quarter, it should be a penalty in the superbowl on the last drive.

This notion that the game is too big for the rules to be enforced is insane. You guys want refs to be perfect, but then want them to not call poo just because its an important game and the call is "weak" is trash.

Call the games the same, fug out of here.

I get it, bro, but man, that's a weak call to make there.  They could call that on a lot of plays that don't decide a game, but they did there and effectively ended it.

I get that … but no matter the moment of the game.. the refs have to do their job. They can’t go in with the mind set “it’s the final minutes of the game… so I’m going to let it slide”

it’s a tick tack call but it’s not the wrong call.

good Super Bowl either way

It isn't week 1 in the first quarter of a game that really doesn't matter when there are 16 more to be played. Terrible comparison.

I really wonder if the pendulum will ever swing back towards the defense. Even Tepper said part of why he wanted a OC was because a new offensive rule is being passed every year.

IMO, get rid of offensive holding and defensive holding and let them go at it. Got to keep DPI and RTP but those are a little less subjective to human error I guess.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
