Personally I think his floor is us at 9, Seattle just resigned Geno so the urgency to take a QB might not be there. But if Richardson dropped to 9 there’s no damn way he’s getting past us.

I almost think Seattle resigning Geno makes it more likely they take AR. It would be a perfect situation where he can sit, learn and develop behind Geno.

All these teams are in need of a QB now. Teams behind us in the draft might try to trade up for the  #1 Chicago  pick   #3 Arizona pick, or Detroit at #6 etc..

So just saying " trade up" isn't as easy as we on the message board thinks.  There are others saying the same thing.

2 Texas

4 Indianapolis

5 Seattle  ( geno smith contract is 3 years, they'll need to draft one at some point )

7 Las Vegas

8 Atlanta

9 Carolina

11 Tennessee

12  Texans again ,

13 NY Jets

19 Tampa Bay

I would be ok taking him at 9.  His post season rise feels like qbs with the media after every season.  Somehow after the combine every year a couple qbs always randomly end up "rising" a lot in the eyes of the talking heads but when the draft comes it doesnt normally happen at all.  Look at Willis last year.   Teams knew he was going to test great in the physical and he did.  Im not sure how that made his value suddenly become much higher.  Broad jump and vertical are pretty low down my list of most desirable qb skill priorities.

I trade back and take Robinson or some other skill guy and use my 2nd on Hooker with a bridge QB.

Levis, Young, or Stroud by some miracle at 9 I would take them.

Hendon Hooker will not last till the second round.

and will probably go ahead of Richardson

easy? no. i doubt many think it is.

expensive? it will definitely be that.

necessary? it is definitely that

we're going to make a serious attempt to trade up. there is very little chance that we sit back at 9 and wait for anyone unless some other team is mortgaging several years worth of draft capital.

i'm sure that Fitt doesn't just have the green light to be aggressive in getting a top 4 pick, but he's probably been directed by Tepper to get it.

this team isn't going to mess around. some in here may not like it, but they are going to have to get used to the idea that this team is going to do everything it can to ensure they get one of those top guys.

the only real option outside of those 4 is Lamar and i don't see that as all that desirable for the team compared to getting one of these top guys in the draft.

It's still hard for me to believe that 3 qb's go before 9. I'm not buying the hype around these guys and neither are most GMs and coaches.  I think the Raiders sign Jimmy G before the draft. Seattle and Carroll sticks with Geno because Pete does not want to develop a rookie at this stage in his career. I don't care what Pete  says it's just smoke trying to get someone to trade up with them for more picks.

Don't you remember last year? 23 qbs went in the top ten.

I think for once I feel at ease to let the professionals do their job. We have a Dream Team staff. And even if we take Hooker at 9, I would trust they know what they are doing.

It's a good feeling to actually trust the coaching staff for once.

The trust will last as long as there's a chance they draft a qb that some fans are drooling over. As soon as they draft a qb that some here do not want then it will be this staff are idiots and do not know a damn thing about qb's.  Mark it down.

    • This draft is 2023 all over again, it's not hard to see. QB's who don't grade out as high first round prospects while at the same time, the following draft class looks to be loaded with elite QB prospects. Drafting a QB just because you need one (or making a bad trade to make said draft pick), when there isn't one worthy of that draft pick, is how you ruin franchises, just look at us right now.
    • I upgraded to the S24+ a few weeks back. Very happy with it.
    • LOL... Yet again proving you can't look below anything than what you see on the surface Mock drafts ARE NOT draft grades They are what people think will happen.  They are mocking teams taking QB's in the top 5 of the draft because that's just historically how drafts go regardless of the grades on the QBs.  Almost every draft expert, even those mocking QB's going high, have said time and time again that none of these QB's actually grade out as those type of picks. This is again, where I say you don't like to actually read what I have to say, because I already explained it. 2022 the exact same thing happened, mock drafts had guys like Pickett and Willis going in the Top 5 because that's just what teams usually do, but GM's listened to their prospect grades and knew they weren't worth taking that high, so they didn't. It's not to say QB's won't go that high this year, but it's to say that they aren't graded out as elite QB prospects.   And yes, I've never said I'm not a T-Mac homer. But me being that doesn't change that he will be the highest graded offensive player in this year's draft, at a position we haven't been able to solve since we lost Smitty.  Taking him makes all the sense in the world, my bias aside.
