I think Cam might make a good position coach. He's got the energy and the positive attitude.

No

I love Cam, was thrilled when we brought him back and will always support him.

But he was never the best at reading defenses and his style of game was the exact opposite of fundamentals, how's he going to teach any QB that isn't a replica of himself?

Love Cam, but he's really sticking to the "aint 32 better than me" thing? He's probably not wrong, but look at his last 1.5 seasons. Idk, at this point just comes across salty. I'd love love love to see him get a chance somewhere and prove it, but I doubt he ever does, and I'm not entirely certain he could prove it.

Cam fell into the Kaepernick and The Golden Calf of Bristol trap. It's not that he isn't good enough to play a role in the NFL. It's just that teams deem the role he would likely play for them not to be worth the attention and ultimately the distraction it would bring.  Cam is a big personality and would bring a ton of media attention and players and coaches would constantly be fielding Cam questions. Teams probably don't want to deal with that.

If Russell Wilson wasn't coming off of such a disastrous season I could see Payton bringing Cam to Denver to play the role of Taysom Hill but given how awful Wilson was last year I can't see it. If he started out rough again the calls for Cam would grow louder and louder.

Cam was never the sideshow like Kaep and The Golden Calf of Bristol were. His personality isn't why he hasn't been signed yet.

His arm is shot.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
