Honestly, I’d be happy with a defense centric draft…But I also normally think that way aside from OL. Lol

The draft is deep with good edge rushers and DT's. LB is deep as well.  We should be able to get a good defensive player in the 2nd or 3rd round if there's not a WR or TE they like.  I'm really curious to see what direction they go in the draft.  It's setting up to go bpa.

You would have a point if I wasn't joking

No different he’s not the route we’re gonna take. No one wants Young because of a hypothetical injury cloud on a rookie contract. We definitely don’t want to pay 150 mill guaranteed plus draft capital for a QB who has been injured and plays the position dangerously

Call Washington. Chase Young has been hurt. They haven’t picked up his fifth year. We eat some of the salary for a late day pick and both teams win. He could finally round into form after dealing with injuries or at worst he’s still an upgrade over YGM.

If he doesn't get an agent soon we may be able to get him for a handful of magic beans.

Cap wise we're committed to a draft picks salary at QB now

Or draft Will Anderson #1

Trade for Lamar Jackson after the draft.

/s

Saw a lot of Will Anderson this year. Felt like he disappeared in some games. I think Lamar is great but that’s not why you trade up to #1.

Better yet, write CJ Stroud, Bryce Young and Will Anderson on the card. Get all 3 at #1 then trade one of the two QB’s to Indy for #4 and a 2024 1st and 2nd. Use #4 to trade for Justin Jefferson.

Yeah I think YGM is just not good enough at rushing the passer. We just don't have enough talent there.

I see YGM as a 4-3 DE or a 3-4 DE on passing situations.   He is 6-5, 265, and ran a sub 4.6 40 at his pro day--so I dunno--a perfect 4-3 DE. According to the Bleacher Report, the ideal size for a 3-4 OLB is 6'3" 240.

In Madden that would be sick. In real life I'm like "Call just to see" lol

    • I'm not to sure it's a solid argument to try to estimate what he will do this season, BUT he's had a solid 3 years in the league. Here's his numbers compared to Jewell's for the same time period. I can see the logic of getting a starting MLB for a (at best) WR4. AT, XL and Tmac are certainly our top 3 guys IN 2025. Certainly worth pondering.
    • Training camp just started and it's already starting... https://www.facebook.com/reel/24277303321904901/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v LOL No one believes you and you have fan pages sharing this with a "Play him or trade him" headline. Oh wee mayne. This is why no front offices wanted any part of this.
    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
