Honestly not very familiar with the player but those highlights shown on NFLN showed no burst and get off speed at all. He comes off the line like a fat kid on his third trip to the buffet line. He ran a nice 40 but he must be a guy who builds speed because his first step is awful if those highlights and representative.

He ran an 11 second 100m sprint in High School (I know this because he initially signed with the Hurricanes).

He had more sacks this year than anyone on our roster not named Burns.  6.5 sacks in 11 games.  Trust the staff

Can yall quit saying "trust the staff" it's annoying as fug. Have we ever had any reason to trust any staff we've ever had to this point?

I guess the theme of Day 2 is low production college players with boom potential.

Ravens know how to draft LBs and took Simpson. This is who we should have been trading up for.

We are not in the position to take swings like this with so little picks and needing to find depth.

We needed a pass rusher, not a traditional LB

Mingo wasn't a reach. You will be in for a suprise. This one is a little bit of a head scratcher but its end of 3rd round. It's not that big of a deal.

Most of you watch clips. I watched Mingo from HS at Brandon High and at Ole Miss. This is no different than folks falling in love with Greg Little. Mingo isn't going to be a bust, but he isn't Metcalf or Brown. It was a reach at 39

To the doubters.

This guy's attributes sets up for what we needed. He's a run stopper. We don't have many of those. He is an edge setter.

Y'all need to chill tf out. I have been able to understand every pick we've taken, most of you forget no draft pick is perfect. They have to learn the game. And that's part of the battle.

You would have done this. We should've done that. You should go get in a thumb war with someone who cares. Bc I can promise you the Panthers FO does not.

Seems like a bunch of butthurt Clemson fans are in this thread tbh.

I ain't no fuggin Clemsux fan.

Dude was completely off the radar, 25 year old, 6 year, 6 sacks having ass, PAC 12 honorable mention from a school that has never produced good edges, even when Dionte Jordan was touted as the best thing since slice bread he busted as a top 5 pick.

Great UDFA signing, AWFUL trade up target with what was available.

I pray to God Evero gets him right - but by the time he even gets a jersey Evero will be a HC elsewhere.

Waste of a pick, waste of a draft capital.

Sadly I agree…he was clueless and didn’t care when anyone tried to interview him.  Ouch

It's crazy, like we're coming off a dynasty and not the worst stretch of years in franchise history.

OREGON DEFENSIVE END DJ JOHNSON

After starting his college career at Miami, then transferring to Oregon and flipping back and forth between tight end and defensive end, DJ Johnson has a unique profile as an older prospect who is also a project.

He showed off an impressive combination of strength and speed by hitting 28 reps on the bench press and running a sub-4.5-second 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine, but his technique is still a work in progress as a defensive lineman, especially as a pass-rusher.

Johnson is still learning how to use his hands when rushing the passer and lacks a go-to move that he'll be able to win with at the next level. However, he is strong and physical at the point of attack as a run defender and showed flashes with his bull rush.

Some teams might hold it against him that he'll turn 25 in October, but the Duck is a versatile edge who can play in either even or odd fronts. He will take some time to develop and while he is older, he is still new to the position which gives him more upside.

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
