I'll pay him based on his contribution in the second half - y'know, when the game was on the line.

$3.50 - take it or leave it.

First half he came out on fire, looking for the pay day and sending a message of what he brings to the defense and his value.  In the second half, his message to the F.O. was "fug you for not paying me"

Paying him as 5th best pass rusher would be okay

If you go by these concept Burns AAV would come out to be approximately $30.5M/yr in today’s times. This seem high under the salary cap concept when you have other players looking for a 2nd contract like: Brown, Chinn, Luvu (FoSho), etc!

Dude had 7 tackles, 4 TFL, 1.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble…against a dinky dunk passing game plan…

If you are angry/dissatisfied after his week 1 performance, well; he ain’t the problem.

Just wish it wasn’t before the Falcons adjusted and later in the game when it matters most. Also would like to see him stop whiffing and catch runners on the edge.

I know these may be nit picking when we are just looking at numbers but you have to remember this guy wants Bosa elite money. You cannot pay someone a ridiculous amount of money and not get the whole package.

A rushing specialist who makes 30 million a year and disappears at halftime and/or can’t produce even when the opposing team is adjusting to take him out isn’t elite. Elite means they aren’t stopping him and just have to do their best to hold him off.

That said, I say pay him too, but I also see the hesitation. Especially if he wants a record breaking salary. And I will also say it never should’ve taken this long. But Fit isn’t a real GM so not sure what y’all expect.

Fitt fuged around and just gave him a 3m raise lol. What pisses me off is were they hoping he wasn't going to have a good game so they could pay him less? 6 months ago the philosophy was to have the roster ready to go so you can drop the #1 pick QB in and now we have no receivers and a stubborn front office. Not exactly taking advantage of the rookie qb 4-5 year window at the moment

The man is playing (and well), and has consistently shown up to practice since this all happened.

If the worst thing he's done is some pretty chill but direct IG posts about what we already know him to feel... who gives a damn.

Social media seems to be made for this in today's society.

It’s more like Burns dominated them the first half so they had to completely change their game plan. They basically shutdown their passing game because of Burns, doubled him on runs and got away with it because our offense kept shooting itself in the foot. A player than can change the opponents game plan than much had a hell of a game.

He is basically on pace for 25.5 sacks and people are critiquing his 2nd half. Bosa meanwhile had 0 sacks and the Steelers were trailing most of the game so there were more opportunities.

Using social media to lobby for a pay raise is lame as hell. Of course his fans want him paid. Other than that he's got nothing to sell himself on the field.  He's another contract year whinner that hasn't finished his contract year before crying for a massive pay raise he hasn't earned to date. Fitterer f*cked this up by letting emotions get in the way. Fitterer is the problem.

Burns has two options to stop seeming petty.  Re-work the last year of his deal to get some extra money like Chris Jones, Jacobs and Barkley did and wait to the offseason for a new deal or just drop this crap.  Either way he's going to get paid in the spring, here or elsewhere.  Unless Mrs. Cleo told him he's going to have a season ending injury, I don't understand the urgency to get paid RIGHT NOW.

Take a reworked deal for this season, which I'm sure is an option since several other players have done it and stop being distraction.  Prove he is worth Nick Bosa money with his play this season.

    • Here is what it said about him coming out of college: Overview A three-year starter with good feet and technique, Samac could be in consideration for a move-blocking rushing attack. He is strong at the point of attack but will have limitations against NFL power. He operates with good hand placement and nimble feet and is a demon once he’s on the move as a pulling center leading the way. He’s fluid and agile in the run game, but those traits fail to do as much for him in protection. Samac punches with inside hands but can struggle to widen his protection base in order to protect his edges. He has eventual starting talent as a run blocker but needs to add more mass and improve in pass protection to get there.
    • Through 2 games cltfc has 12 shot attempts. Opponents 23 shots on target. Attack sucks, Defense definitely sucks. Kahlina is the only reason they haven't given up 14 goals in two games.
    • I met a few times--never liked him. I figured he might have had a bad day--but then realized that he must have a lot of bad days. Once he raised his voice at my son because my son did not understand a question when SS was signing his jersey.  I wanted the jersey to represent his encounter with a Panther great, not some small man with a bad attitude.  I told me son, "Forget it.  He was asking you what your name is (My son was about 7 and told me that he thought Smitty was going to write (my son's) name on the jersey.  He said "Dad, I thought he was supposed to write HIS name on the jersey, not mine."  I said, "He was personalizing it, writing it to you--like a birthday card."  He is now grown, and he has a steve smith Jersey that is framed and matted.  He keeps it is his closet.  I asked him, "Why not have that out on your wall?"  He said, "All I remember is an A-hole scribbled on my shirt.  I don't remember a legend or hero.  But he had a Jake Delhomme Jersey on his wall.  "Jake was great.  I will always remember that."  (Jake stayed and talked to us for about 5 minutes or more--GREAT guy.)
