Same thing here, a meddling owner.   In Indy, one that kept fugging with the QB depth chart.  Frank whiffed on bringing back Wentz, but beyond that Irsay saying which QB should be starting and who to bench is bull crap.  That's straight up Jerry Jones level of meddling right there.

I honestly don't think Frank had any idea how 'handsy' Tepper would be or he probably would have looked elsewhere after dealing with Irsay.

All these excuses for Frank. Wilks was miles better yet nobody had excuses for him and he did it in the middle of the season.

Rhule is not a better coach than Reich and it is not even close. Rhule is a big reason why this team is void of talent. The drafting and player selection during his reign was terrible. It will take years to overcome the mess he left. Each year he was coach the teams got worse and less playmakers.

Good point , I could see Payton not wanting anything to do with Teppo The Clown

I just knew hiring a retread coach, who had mediocre success at his old team he was fired from wasn't a good hire, and I feel like Dr Malcolm in Jurrassic Park

The picks would have been better served on punchable face Payton then on Bryce Young

Oy 🙄

No, Rhule is not a better NFL coach than Frank Reich...or Josh McDaniels ...or pretty much anybody else besides other college coaches who lucked into pro jobs.

This is what they call being "a prisoner of the moment".

George Seifert has spent the majority of our existence being regarded as the worst Carolina Panther coach. And he was.  What he did prior never factored or mattered.   And Seifert has by far the best NFL resume of any HC that has ever been employed here.

As of right now, Frank Reich has come in here and absolutely been worse than Matt Rhule.   If Frank is fired today, in the Panther history books, Matt Rhule would have been a better coach.

Frank Reich has been horrific.  It is what it is.

    • would love it if Vegas were Week 5 (Oct 7).  Just throwing it out there with fingers crossed
    • I believe you are correct. Everyone remembers that record setting drubbing of the Broncos but that was the highlight of their season. They have very good coaching overall and they have a ton of talent. With a better QB they could have knocked off the Chiefs IMO. We aren't even in the conversation of the Dolphins until proven otherwise. We couldn't even get in the end zone against the lowly Chicago Bears. We got shutout and blown out by the CJ Beathard led Jaguars for fugs sake. We can't even compete with bad teams let alone run up the score on them. To me if I'm being completely realistic if I'm the GM and my job is on the line and I feel like Tua is Bryce Young's ceiling I'm drafting QB in the first round next year unless he just magically has a season like Stroud did last year. That's it. I'm genuinely not trying to be abrasive about this it just gets really mind numbing eventually that we keep lowering the bar down down down down down and it's like hey it's fine to have expectations. And if you have a young QB in his prime and he isn't giving you at least prime Jake Delhomme arm talent it's time to keep looking for a QB.
    • Not exactly.  They show that Jones was making the most of the opportunities he had.  I was never a fan of his, but I think that the talent level in NE last year is somehow escaping the massive negative attention it should have received.  That team was terrible - especially the talent and coaching on offense - and everyone was still afraid of the wrath of hoodie. He'll have a chance to restart his career at some point.  He was a middle of the pack QB as a rookie.  Plenty of teams out there would love to make it up to middle of the pack at QB.
