And just like that no one in house has to prop up the Bryce trade and pick anymore...

Also a tough thing for Bryce. The guy who originally pounded the table for him and was his biggest advocate is now gone.

An even bigger hurdle to climb appears as not many QBs handpicked by a former, fired regime tend to work out for the next one.

Why the fug did they keep him this long? They could already have hired a new GM and be ready for the HC search.

Even when Tepper does something right he still finds the wrong way to do it. Whatever, take what you can get I guess.

It gives me some hope that as bad as he’s been as an owner, Tepper is still trying to make moves needed to win. The Jets are keeping Joe Douglas who has as bad a record as Fitterer for another season. If everyone here was correct and Fitterer was just a plant to feed Tepper’s ego and let him be the actual GM then he wouldn’t have made this move.

My worry is that young neuters the process

Best of luck to him, but honestly I'm glad we're moving on. These three years with him have been soul-crushingly bad for this franchise.

Maybe we will get lucky and find a new wunderkind out there.

What we have in house in management and evaluation has proven to be terrible. The whole thing needs to be jettisoned, the ground burned, soil turned and new seed planted.

It's Tepper so I will reserve any hope until he gives me legitimate reasons for hope. Trying to make moves was never one of Tepper's faults, making good moves and having good management are. We will see. Anyway it drops not having Fitterer as GM at least opens the door to improvement.

Want to know what grinds my gears?  They always show a photo of a GM wearing a blazer with no tie and Ray Ban sunglasses.  Why is that?
Some of you will say, "He missed the point of this thread."

"Did I though?"

"Yes.  I seem to have strayed."

It's not so much that they don't work out for the next guy as it is that poor play caused the original guy to be fired.  That being said, given that Bryce is one year in and a first round pick, he will almost definitely have a shot to make it.

    • I think starting this week you gotta work in Tremayne out there.   You don't got to bench XL but Tremayne just seems to be clearly a better WR at this stage (despite XL having the physical tools).   I think waiting on Coker is malpractice.
    • I don't like much about this team BUT WE ARE GONNA WIN THIS THING BABY LETS GOOOOOOO
    • I agree completely.  I’m not absolving XL of his errors and shortcomings, but week 2 was definitely less an issue with him as it was QB and coaching/scheme.     It’s becoming abundantly clear, not just with XL, but with everyone on the offense, our coaches are not crafting a game plan to play to their players’ strengths, but rather they’re creating a game plan and then trying to fit guys into it where each position is treating each player as interchangeable and they’re not.  The breakdown I watched also discussed how no one expected XL to be destroying people with his route running coming out - that would have to be refined.  So, the poo we’re seeing, we can’t really blame him for.  He has gotten open enough often, but the passes are often off-target.  And he would likely excel more as a guy who can threaten with the deep ball to take the top off the defense, but we don’t have a QB that can throw that pass.
