It's not Thielen's fault that our other receivers sucked.

Thielen wouldn’t have even started on the last 2 teams Canales was at.  And would’ve been the number 3 option like he was at the end in Minnesota

In a perfect world, that's probably a good plan anyway.

I don't disagree. The only other decent receiver we had on the roster was Chark and he's just a terrible pairing with Bryce. You don't want a deep threat specialist to pair with one of the weakest arms in the NFL. Square peg, round hole.

Thats a bit too much of a pipe dream for me though, just trying to connect dots.

Aiyuk is one of the best pure receivers in the league. Doubt SF looks to move him. He’s an integral part of their team vying for a SB.

Doubt Metcalf is going anywhere as well.

I'd bet good money that Aiyuk isn't on the 49ers next year

No, they don't/won't want to move him, but they just can't afford to re-sign him, they have too many huge contracts that they won't be able to afford a second big WR contract.

He's widely been discussed as a trade target for WR needy teams this offseason because of that.

So unless they decide they don't need both CMC and Deebo and want to trade Deebo instead (as I do think there is some overlap there between them and maybe Aiyuk/CMC is a better combo for varying skill set), I 100% believe Aiyuk will be traded before next season.

I'd like us to get Higgins. Bring back Chark if he's cheap enough. I'd also be open to bringing back Damiere Byrd to see if he still has juice. He didn't get to play last year due to injury and I think his speed was a really underrated loss for us.  Higgins, Mingo, Theilen, Chark, Byrd, and some decent FA TE, wouldn't be bad heading into the draft.

I just about had it sifting through scraps from other teams. Go get at least two guys in the draft and throw them out there. There's enough stories of mid/late round WR success stories and we're still going to struggle as a team regardless next season, so might as well let them acclimate with plenty of playing time.

I suspect this room is going to look completely different next fall.  By Any mean necessary.

The is arguably the worst in the league.

Additionally. Our New HC has been credited for turning around 2 QBs who just so happened to step in to situations that had top 5 in the NFL WR duos.

He "stepped in to" that situation in Seattle?  Who was the WR coach from 2010-2017 followed by their passing game coordinator?  Who do you think created that WR room in Seattle?

Then you have Evans (getting some age on him) and Godwin coming off an injury.  He had their offense scoring 11% more with Baker than it was with Brady.  Over a decade under Carroll, Dungy as a mentor, and helping two of the biggest QB turnarounds we have seen in a minute is a decent resume.  Let's just see what he can do.

Sign Evans and Higgins.  Keep Thielen and Mingo. Draft a rookie or two.

Lmao I’m sorry but signing both Higgens and Evan’s is laughable. Do we have infinite cap space now? Are we going to let every player we need to resign hit free agency? Respectfully this is not madden.
