Should the Panthers trade Jaycee Horn?

All this talk about the CMC trade has got me thinking - should the Panthers trade Jaycee Horn? What could they get in return?

Don't get me wrong, Horn is a very good player, when he's on the field. The problem is, Horn has only played in 22 of 51 possible games (43%) for the Panthers.

Is the value there to make a trade? He's heading into his 4th season, and the Panthers will need to decide if they pick up his 5th year option this offseason.

The Panthers have so many needs on the roster, and still fielded a stout defense without Horn on the field most of the season. If they can recoup a 1st round pick for him or multiple high draft picks, I think you have to consider trading him.

If someone would give us a first for him? Absolutely.

I'd even take an early second.

He has never been reliable. I don't see that changing. First round pick would be more valuable.

Less than that, though, ride with it and hope he quits breaking. I really don't see that happening though. He's going to just spend his whole contract here being talented and sidelined.

Yes. A 5th round pick that is healthy has a better shot at contributing. Get something now before he goes on IR again and they get nothing. He hasn't even played 50% of the games his entire career and . If they can get a 5th just take it. He played in 6 games last year, hell take a 7th at this point.

First question you got to ask is.....should the Panthers extend him to a fat healthy contract given his injury history?

If the answer is no or BUT only if he plays for a cheap deal....then a rebuilding team should flat out trade people that aren't part of the future IMO pending a good deal could get made.

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
