I think Young needs a sports psychologist…..

I think we're a couple weeks out from him asking privately and then being placed on IR with a mystery injury.

That is what you do with him.  He needs technique and psychological toughness development-so put him on the IR and tell him that the Panthers are drafting a QB in 2025 to compete with him.  He has 1 year to get sound, stronger, and mentally tough.  He needs to watch and learn.  If he is not 100% better by August, 2025, cut him.  He has not had to compete--it is time he did.

I want to cut him now and be done with it, but it does not hurt us in any way to put him on IR and give him a last shot

He only has confidence in training camp because he knows he can’t get hit. His play only translates to rookie mode on madden, and he can’t hang with all-madden.

I said this a couple times in camp. He could be the greatest flag football QB ever if there was a league for that.

he looks NOTHING like his college self. This young man is broken inside, no passion, no zest, just ho-hum BETA BOY with no ALPHA DOG QB1 fire

I lay blame to 70% is Young was never going to succeed in the NFL and 30% this organization is a total dumpster fire and can’t develop a QB

Alabama tape, my favorite. That is where he left his confidence.

I would bet something (if I bet): that if he went down to Alabama Saturday and suited up he would look like he does in those college videos. No problem.

Bryce has a psychology degree lol. His dad a weird grifter shrink kinda dude. I don't think talking through his feelings with some grifter shrink is going to change the fact that he's not an NFL qb. Once he's out of the NFL I'm sure he'll be fine with his $40m and getting a job at the Manning passing academy or whatever

He doesn't have the physical talent. I tried to tell y'all this leading up to the draft. The college tape didn't translate to the NFL.

That's funny you suspended my account for saying this exact same thing during draft time. You told me I should embrace it and he's ours so we should like him. Welcome to the dark side.

He can spend some of his ill-gotten gains on a therapist.

I just hope we cut him sooner rather than later.

He looks exactly like he looked at Alabama. And that is the problem. You have 2 seconds to throw in the NFL, not 12.

This. That horrendous play yesterday where he rolled left and got sacked to take us out of field goal range was exactly the kind of poo he did at Alabama when he was “extending plays.” The only difference is the college D-line could be held at bay long enough for him to look downfield for 4 seconds so that his 5* receiver could beat the other team’s 2* nickel corner for a deep ball. In the NFL you get like half that time if you’re lucky and everyone is a 5* corner. He isn’t making the plays or the right decisions to be successful at this level. And it’s not just sometimes, it’s every fuging time he touches the ball.

    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
    • this one is gold:     Bryce has a cult inside the Panthers fanbase that has truly developed some NPC hivemind. I'll never understand how he's captured the true essence of the casual fan like that.
