Joe Person: Andy Dalton will 'get another crack' as starting QB

Good.

Hes simply leaving too many plays out on the field, and I’m sure Canales is seeing that on film. Now, what is likely to happen is the chiefs are going to dog walk us, calming everyone down. That’s when you go ahead and close the door on this chapter, and go back to Dalton to finish out the season.

Honestly, bringing Bryce along by playing him, then sitting him and letting him watch with more educated eyes and a different perspective isn't the worst method of getting him worked out. And sending Andy in to perform and then do an after action discussion after each series with Bryce isn't bad either.

It gives a guy a chance to get experience, digest it and make use of it.

Still, while we are seeing some growth in Bryce, he's still got a long way to go to convince at least me that he's able to overcome his early work and his physical shortcomings. Doesn't mean he can't overcome them and be something special, but there's still a mountain to climb.

He's being given a shot and be given the tutoring. The rest is up to him and fate.

Rumors I've read, and just watching Young and the  play calling, seems to indicate that Canales does not believe in Young

…at all

..maybe he was  told by  owner, gm, etc that the franchise is moving  on

…Or maybe Canales sees the limited plays calls with young under  center

i mean, it is all conjecture

…but let’s  face it…126 yards…what more is there to say…yes there were drops but all qbs have those

He needs to do really really well against KC and  even  if he does…might not be enough

i suspect they will either trade him before draft or will draft  a qb and have an open competition   If he stays, it might be as a backup

Going back to Dalton just seems inevitable. I never really thought differently about that.

I think Canales wanted to go back to Andy sooner after the car wreck but his thumb still wasn't good for New Orleans. Then he won two games and didn't want to make a switch in the middle of it regardless of Bryce's play/stats.

I'm booking it, first loss after the bye and Bryce is back on the bench.

Especially if he has another 100 yd passing game. I mean that's just not a fluke at this point.

OR: Bryce throws for 95 yards and 1 TD in a signature upset win against KC, and the legacy continues.

5th rounder, maybe 4rth if we get lucky

The tape on him is simply not good.  He is a game manager back up incapable of putting a team on his back to win.

Unfortunately that's what I'm thinking as well. No better than a 4th if we are really lucky but probably just a 5th. That sucks but it has to be done to officially move on and away from him.

I’m not sure the timeframe on a sprained thumb, but, maybe Andy getting the start after the bye?

Loyalty has to be to the team. Not Bryce. Coach and Dan have to show the players that they got their backs. Everyone knows Bryce is not the future so don’t waste everyone’s time.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
