I was definitely a Bryce doubter. Was cautiously hopeful before last season, quickly saw enough to lose that hope. Games 1 and 2 this year just confirmed it, and I doubted he would ever become even a decent backup.

I wouldn’t say I’m “all aboard the Bryce train,” but I’ve definitely seen enough over the last three games to give him the benefit of the doubt and not be hoping we replace him. The two games before that were ok but not particularly good, these last three games have been good.  He keeps it up for the rest of this season and I’ll be all aboard. What I am ready to admit is that I was definitely wrong to complete write him off, he’s shown stuff in these past three games that he never showed even a remote glimpse of the first 18 games. Huge improvement.

Solid offensive line play is the main reason for his resurgence.   I'm still in the wait and see camp.  I'm pretty sure I know how this plays out long term.  People are captured in the moment and not thinking long term.  Remember, Bryce is still on his rookie contract and we can divert resources elsewhere, for NOW...like the OL. I could be wrong be wrong , but I have a felling we Daniel Jones this thing before it's all said and done.

Agreed. Even this past game look at Hurts stats paired with his supporting cast and the defense he played against.  Do the same with Bryce and it’s pretty impressive.  Hopefully he continues to get better.

Underrated point. Hurts had an MVP favorite in the backfield. All-Pro as his #1 and a 1b as his #2 along with a top offensive line and imo Bryce played better. That’s of course not to say Young>Hurts, that’s nonsense at this point. I’m simply saying that’s important to keep in mind that he’s doing what he’s doing with a below average supporting cast.

I was believing that he was a bust but his performance against TB, KC and Philly has put me on his bandwagon.

I just hope Morgan realizes that our offensive line has to be as good as this one is. Young will never be able to carry a team like Cam had to with a mediocre line. As players retire and move through free agency Morgan has to continue to give Young a great offensive line.  IMO this will determine whether he'll be a franchise QB.

And Hurts was playing against our defense vs Young playing against the Eagles defense.

call up man coverage - 9's got you

call up zone coverage - 9's got you

call up a blitz - 9's got you

you think you've got 9? - 9's got you.

Dudes definitely frustrating elusive for opponents. Ya think you got him and he is gone and getting the ball downfield for 20 yards. Kinda like what Rodger would do in his prime.

After week two of this season, definitely.

I begged you to be wrong about panthers drafting BY and the first 18(minus GB) games he played it was a fuging horror show. I didn't think he was simple capable of being a NFL QB 1-3, even doubted PS, cause I would have current FA PJ walker over him.

Right meow, I feel its still undecided, but he at least playing like a legit NFL QB. Defenses are ahead currently in the NFL and cold/bad weather is here, ALLL QB play is down/bad *but BY is playing well.

Invest is sunk and all, but Id be lying if I didn't still feel like trading him. My nightmare is that BY levels off and remains a 23rd rank type of QB. You know the type it just get you 6 or 7 wins while teasing you for the playoffs.

I hope Panthers at least add one big time TE or WR to the group.

He was throw for throw against MVP/Superbowl MVP and KCs D, he had lead another game winning drive that will not go down in the stats as one. He's played like I never thought he could reach the last 3 weeks. Even going back 6, each of those week both QBs were struggling just that time of year(weather). He keeps getting better, which was my #1 goal of the season.

He's also not had Sanders, AT, Coker for a few games during this morphosis. Im always honestly, but the current group of panthers WRs and TEs are not enough. I never thought Id be saying this in his defense- " BY deserves more and better weapons ". They need to either spend a 1st/2nd or trade or drop the Higgins bag(I hate this) for him. Need a legit top pass catching weapon, get on it dan...

That point guard meme that everyone including me were laughing about......... he has looked that part in the last couple games. If he keeps up the play, he deserves some comeback player of the year votes. Hes putting the team in position to win.

Society as a whole has lost the ability to have nuance. I am a victim of this as well.

Multiple things can be true about Bryce

1- the first two games of this year were an unmitigated disaster and he clearly was mentally in a very bad place

2- it is in the best interest of this organization for Bryce to be good, given the investment we have made in him

3- post benching Bryce is the best he has ever looked in the league

4- the jury is still out if he can truly be a franchise level QB, a good but not great starter, or not a viable longterm answer

5- his play post benching combined with the lack of top flight QB talent in this draft, warrants us continuing to evaluate him into next season

I have said all along, I wanted to us to draft CJ, but the minute we drafted Bryce I have wanted Bryce to succeed here. I'm a Panthers fan first and foremost not a fan of my own predictions

    • Why? AI already taking jobs, running up power bills, drinking all the water and just bad for the environment but hey lest try to shoehorn another useless way to use it.
    • I'm going rogue in R1 but there's so much confusion around us. Last year, we were going Walker or Williams and caught folks off guard with TMac. The previous year we LOVED Legette and it was no surprise when his name was called. This year, I think we nail three areas that weren't totally addressed in FA.  R1 - Kayden McDonald Full disclosure, I want Thienemann here, but think he goes before 19. Some might see an "overdraft" but McDonald unlocks so many people on our D. Having a DT the caliber of McDonald let's Lloyd, Wallace and the newly drafted Hill flood the offensive backfield. Also opens up Moehrig and our EDGES to eat. Lastly, it also removes all the pressure on DB to be the primary facilitator in the trenches and A'Shawn will be missed. I don't care about Turk. McDonald is the only true DT worth of a R1 grade and Morgan seals up our trenches here w/ a kid from a blue blood school. R2 - Anthony Hill Jr *trade up*  I love JRod, but think a smart team takes him at the end of R1 (Seattle, NE w/ two d-minded coaches). Hill, Jr is a beast and lost in the shuffle with all the Styles/Allen/Rodriguez hype. He and Lloyd with DB and McDonald up front and flanked by Scourton/Phillips is nasty.  R3 - Hecht/Lew/Center du jour Let's stop the madness with ignoring this position in the draft. We need one and should start normalizing the capital invested in our OL with someone on a draft contract. He won't need to start day 1, but I think the right selection will push for starter reps. R4 - Bud Clark Not sure if he's here in R4 where we pick, but would fit the "type" of FS/roamer that we need opposite Moehrig and Ransom. Allows us to run 3-safety looks and really keep teams guessing with personnel packages. R5 - Kendrick Law The kind of WR we need. IDK if he's any different than Horn, Jr or Metchie but Law could be a dart throw that brings a deep threat to our WR corps I'm guessing one of the R5 picks is used to move up in R2 along with a '27 day 3 pick.   Post-draft, I sign Njoku to bring in a vet at TE. I'm also keeping my eyes open for pre-week 1 team cuts for a young CB that we could bring in to maybe plan for Mike Jack's departure next year. Flame away.... I know the McDonald pick will not make people happy.
