Everyone Pushing to Draft Yet Another WR Early

You have to give time to what we have. Wasting yet ANOTHER high draft pick on a WR is a stupid decision. Glad y'all ain't GM's. Thielen is clearly the number one option for Bryce. Legette and Coker need time to actually develop. David Moore served as a safe space, but he is literally JAG. Trading for Wilson seems like the best option. Overpaying for a journeyman veteran isn't. Higgins isn't the answer, he benefits from Chase.

We can’t evaluate WR so the only options I see is go pay a lot for a guy who is proven or draft the consensus #1 WR

Best player available. If that's a WR, then it is what it is. Sorry (not sorry). You don't reach for a player at a position of need because you feel like it. Reaching is arguably how we ended up where we are today.

Thielen is not a WR1, it doesn't look like Legette is either. Coker isn't a WR1. We arguably have three guys with WR2 upside (if we're lucky...which we're not). WR is on our list of needs, whether you like it or not. You look at what you're in the market for, choose the player with the highest grade, and put in your card. If you can trade down to gain value, then you can consider that as well. This is how this works.

Thielen literally contemplated retiring this offseason.   I don't think XL or Coker will ever be a true #1.  If there was an elite all around prospect at wr at our pick I would be totally fine with it, but I'm tired of drafting big body possession receivers who skip agility and quickness drills.

LOLOL

"big body possession receivers who skip agility and quickness drills"

I love when people just announce to everyone that they have no idea who T-Mac is as a player

This is a very short sighted take. Theilen is here one more year tops. As soon as 2026, or possibly sooner if we trade Theilen to a contender next season, our WR core could be WR1 Tet, WR2 XL, Slot Coker. Possibly switch XL and Coker.

That’s a strong young trio to grow with our QB who is younger than most of this season’s rookie QBs.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
