Speaking of revisiting trades: Brian Burns

While he was here, Burns was more of a fan favorite than an actual force on the field. Glad he was able to find a home elsewhere, but it wasn't like we traded away prime Peppers.

Still, would have been nicer to have gotten that package deal from the Rams, but we were stupid.

All of these sacks and yet he isn't helping them win games. Burns was not going to thrive being on the Panthers, he needs the Giants defensive line to take the pressure away from him. Am I upset that we traded him? No, I do believe that we could have gotten more for him though. Panthers have had talent in the past, we just can't keep them all together and win with them ex CMC, DJ Moore, Burns.

Let's not forget he is on an absolutely STACKED d line. Good for Burns, but you can't say he would be putting up these numbers here.

Exactly. He is like the #2 WR that stacks receptions because teams can’t leave the #1 guy in single coverage. They have to dare somebody to beat them.

Of course once he knew we turned down two 1sts he was going for the huge contract if he wasn’t already. I  think we were right to let him go at that point.

Should have traded him to the Rams when they offered two first round picks.

Another Fitterer blunder.

This is just mind blowing to me.

I would believe you if you told me Fitterer was intentionally sabotaging the team.

It is completely unacceptable, unbelievable, and unforgivable.

However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup.
