What was accomplished this season?

Here we are at the end of yet again another miserable garbage season. There’s so many negative things about this season that I can’t even begin to count them.

But what accomplishments can we glean from this seasons?

4 players with 1000 total yards. DJ Moore and Robby Anderson both had 1000 receiving yards. Curtis Samuel finally developed into a solid player (unfortunately he probably won’t be here next year).

Pretty solid 2020 draft. Jeremy Chinn is awesome. Derrick Brown might be a dominant DT one day. Yetur Gross-Mayos isn’t a bust.

The team was competitive in a lot of games maybe Matt Rhule might grow into a good professional coach?

McCaffrey got a lot of rest this season and should be fresh next year.

Anything else?

We had a brand new coaching staff, no offseason, the highest amount of dead money by a mile, the highest turnover in the league, started an incredible amount of rookies on defense, lost our best player almost all year, played without our starting LT over half the season, and almost everyone expected us to be the worst team in the league.

We have a lot to look forward to, and many young players developed in front of our eyes this year. I believe our future is bright and that we have a good young core to build around. Now that Hurney is gone, we have a cap specialist, and are out of cap hell, I expect to be able to to take over the division in a year after we draft our next franchise QB in a few months.

Phil Snow got a lot out of this group. I'm excited about the potential of this defense as more talent is added.

The offensive play calling outside of the red zone was great for the most part.  Hope we get another year with Brady at OC.

DJ Moore’s 1,193 receiving yards represented the sixth-most by a player in franchise history. Only Steve Smith and Moose are ahead of him.

It’s also the most yards in team history by a WR not voted to the Pro Bowl.

Our coaching staff is significantly better.

The defense, the major focus of the offseason, is beginning to look a lot better. Another couple of pieces added in the offseason could push the unit into at worst a top 16 defense.

The offense looks fun, but there are pieces missing. Look for there to be a major tooling here as there are still needs at OL, QB, and TE.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
