The Moment You Haven't Been Waiting For - My Three Round Mock Panthers Draft

If both Pitts/Sewell fall to 8 (unlikely but this is a message board) what would you do and why?

I'm taking Pitts.  He is a ultimate game changer and TEs are incredibly important in the NFL right now.

I think there are multiple starting LTs in rounds 1-3.  But Pitts is so far above any other TE.

Take Sewell. If he pans out, you have an elite LT which this team hasn't had in years. Other teams will also be looking to pick up those young and cheap LT options in the later rounds, so that means the Panthers might not be able to get one due to a run on them. Don't pass up the chance when you finally have it.

Yeah. Stop the bleeding. Draft a goddamned Left effing Tackle. One who always plays there! Not a guy with "traits". A full time left fugging tackle. BY GOD it's past time. Do what you have to, to get Sewell. IDGAF

This fuggin 100! Not all positions need a hybrid talent! Give me a big ugly specialist in this position

My problem with taking an O lineman in the top 10 picks is ,, their legs/knees ( health ) are going to fail more often than someone like a PItts.

I'm not sure who the " best player available "  will be at 8 ,  but with a first round pick, I think we should go in that direction.

For those who might say , trade back and get another 2 ..   I ask, what teams are required to do that with us ??

He's not an in-line TE.

He's wasted if you don't flex him out into space.

He can be both.  He is a willing blocker but not great technician yet.

And I'm sure he would be flexed in space often.  The 3 WR sets with 1 TE backside we ran with Olsen all the time was so effective.

Yep.  Either Slater or Sewell would be fine.  Both are natural born killers that want to rip your head off.  Yes please

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/top-9-offensive-tackles-2021-nfl-draft/

I want a Left Tackle selected with our #8 draft choice. This is an interesting article rating the top 9 offensive tackles in the draft.

They had Christian Darrisaw North Virginia Teck as the # 2 rated offensive tackle and Rashawn Slater North Western # 3.

I wonder how the Panthers Staff have them rated, since most of us think Rashawn Slater should be rated # 2.

    • I think the first 3 picks will be defensive players this time. At least that's how the draft is falling this year. I would not be shocked at all if our 1st pick is the number one safety in the draft. It appears he will be right there for the taking.
    • Man oh man. That 8-9 record without a playoff berth puts at 13 if I recall, ahead of both Atlanta and TB with their 8-9 records, due to our weaker SOS.   We might have been in range to deal for that guy. I hope he doesn’t last to 8. And I hope some AFC team picks him.
    • Cool. I am not wanting to debate or argue it. It is mostly my preferences. But a couple of things:  I just don’t think he sees the middle of the field well. But besides that I would rather spend a 1st round pick at different offensive positions if we went offense, otherwise we have neglected defense something fierce the last few years. Last 1st rounder was Horn. That’s like 5 years ago now.   Investments… gee the last 4 drafts we have used a 2, a 2, a low 1st and a top ten pick on WR. Bryce has been here three years, three of those picks were specifically for him.  And assets, I don’t think you are counting the haul we gave for the QB position. That counts and it was huge.   Add that up and add the Burns cap space we freed up when we traded him. We bought two guards and used the savings on them. Not on the defense.  I mean, that is a lot of investment in the offense when you put all that in a sack and weigh it.    peace. Appreciate your post.
