Remaining Schedule...

Ok, too early perhaps but now that we have information on the strength of our upcoming opponents for the test of the season, the toughest contests look to be:

Cowboys, Cardinals, Bills, Buccaneers X 2.

Even 2-3 out of those 5 get us to the playoffs.  No guarantees on the rest of the schedule but they sure all look winnable.

12-5 seem crazy?

It's possible, though Saints will likely be more difficult next time.  How much so remains to be seen, but they were missing a ton of defensive players.  I think our defense will still feast, but it will be a much tighter game I think.

At this point I think 10-11 wins, which is a more than the 7-9 I was thinking before the season started.  Our defense is 100% legit.  Darnold is not garbage.  I'm still doubtful that our offense is where it needs to be though and I think we lose at least 1 game that we should win.  It all depends if this offense can improve week over week - and stay healthy.

Well they really couldn’t be much worse. We dominated them.

You really don't know anything after a 2 game sample size. Im excited from what I've seen but I'm not going to start talking playoffs after 2 games

We were 6-2 in 2018 at one point and missed the playoffs. Granted Cam’s shoulder exploded but still.

The 2002 Panthers after 1-15 year started 3-0 and finished 7-9. I agree let’s not get too excited yet but enjoy the wins.

That season was similar start too, the defense feasted. Peppers vs Harrington was memorable.

    • I see that perspective, but there are some glaring differences.  At that time, the QB in Green Bay was entrenched  or proven and Love was the 26th pick of the first round--not the 8th.  Picking him at 8 was a reach, and people in Green Bay thought picking love at 26 was a bit of a reach (I recall many wondering if he would be a first or second rounder).  Cousins is new--has not even met his teammates.  This will impact the locker room differently.  Since the fans are not that attached to familiar as the Cheeseheads were to Rodgers, Cousins will have a bad game and the controversy will begin.  For that reason, I am not sure they did anything but use a first round pick to weaponize their fan base against the QB they just paid $100m in guaranteed money.  That did not happen in Green Bay--it will happen in Atlanta.  Popcorn is out.
    • Arod wasn't new to the team, nor did he sign 180milion deal with 100 million guarantees. Plus love was a 26th pick, not 8th overall. BTW cousins has a no-trade clause as well.... I think it made arod win the MVP too....which in itself worth the pick... The main point of drafting a rookie is for them to play on that cheap contract. At min penix will play two years from now, thus washing out the good part of his contract. Only way this works if cousins gets re-injured or busts. He will be 26-27 and need another contract by then.  No matter what the saints do, Each cap dollars do matter. It's an awful awful deal no matter the out come. Glad panthers will benefit!!
