I'm cautious with this update. A "few weeks" can turn into a month, can turn into him coming back too early like last year. If this team is in contention in November, hold him out as long as possible for a playoff push.

You have to be certain the hamstring is healed.  You can't take 90% and pray it doesn't strain again.  CMC will want to play but we've got to be certain.

Don't see why we don't put CMC on IR and use his spot for someone else.

They are likely still examining to see just how bad the injury is and will evaluate how long they will keep him out. IR has a mandatory 3 week wait period (correct me if im wrong) so they're likely waiting...

Hope that heavy college use and us riding him into the dirt hasn't caught up… Time to be on the safe side and draft a 1st round RB.

Sure!  Right after we shore up our oline with first round LT.  We probably could actually throw a late first at another lineman the year after.  About this time we'll want to put another high pick into the dline.  And I imagine somewhere in those few years there will be a can't miss guy that falls to us that we take because BPA.

Only  7 of the top 10 running backs in 2020 were picked after the 1st round. I'm going to suggest that if we want a RB, we trade down and get our 2nd round pick back and use that on a RB.

Top 10 RBs in 2020

  • Henry - 2nd round
  • Cook - 2nd round
  • Taylor - 2nd round
  • Aaron Jones - 5th round
  • James Robinson - UDFA
  • David Montgomery - 3rd round
  • Nick Chubb - 2nd round
  • Josh Jacobs - 1st round
  • Melvin Gordon - 1st round
  • Zeke - 1st round
  • Pie 1

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
