Anyone else got a bad feeling about this Eagles game?

I am pretty at peace right now.

I think he is talking about beating an actual playoff contender.

Yes we beat the Saints but I don’t know if I’d call the Saints a playoff team. They are screaming 7-10.

I think we will have our statement game soon.

Yes, this is exactly what I mean. The Panthers beat two teams with a rookie QB and Jameis Winston who I wouldn’t consider a quality QB. The Cowboys beat the hell out of this defense with their run game, laying a blueprint for other teams. The only reason that Cowboys game didn’t appear to be a blowout is because Trevon Diggs left the game in the 4th quarter and Darnold threw the ball at whoever was covering guys in his spot, allowing the Panthers to claw back.

Bottom line is, this Panthers team is really banged up and not as good as the roster that hit the field Week 1. The Eagles are going to be a tough out for an undermanned Panthers team.

It does have a trappy feel. They remind me of Houston as in thinking they will be a easy matchup, but they come to ready play/win.

If Hurts gets hot....maybe a OT type of game. Plus panthers OL vs iggles DL, jesus halp.....

I still believe panthers should win, 9 points..

And Dallas did the same to us with Horn.  Melvin was totally outmatched in both the run and the pass.  Its hard to estimate what a difference Horn would have made in that game.

Kamara played in the Saints game and we shut him down.  We could not shut down Elliot.  In the end, if they can run on us, its going to be a long day.

If the Dallas game is what we can expect out of our D going forward with the loss of Horn, we're in big trouble.

We're going to learn a lot about our team's depth this week. And our coaching.

Honestly, I can sympathize with the OP that this game can look pretty daunting from the outside.

With last year's team, I'd say we were goners. This year, I think Darnold makes a difference. He's got that spark that makes winning possible, he doesn't give up. I like that. You can believe in someone who has that.

So, I think we'll win this one, but it's going to be a gutty, tough win rather than the dominant wins we saw at the beginning of the season.

I think this says it best.  Who is our defense, last week's defense or the previous three?  I don't think we can win in a shoot out.  If we return to form this week, it will probably relieve a lot of worry.

and I have never forgotten Fletcher Cox almost single handedly beating us after being a last minute activation that was hurt all week.

I think we win.  I don’t think we will feel great after it.  But that’s also just how football is.

    • This is gonna be longest six weeks ever
    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
