3rd rounders are not necessarily going to be exceptional starters out of the gate.  The weird 2nd round guard grade thing confuses the poo out of me tho.

Hindsight being what it is, I wish we'd gone a different direction with our 2nd round too... or maybe just not awarded Robby a massive contract... but yea, hindsight...

Yeah, they could have just said they see BC as a guard in the NFL instead of tackle. Simpler language and people would have an easier time understanding what they meant.

And if they were planning on extending Robby, they should have passed on TMJ. I remember reading a rumor they took him just to keep the Saints from taking him. If that's true, it's a stupid reason for wasting the draft pick considering all the other needs the team has.

I’d imagine a big reason Watson doesn’t want to come here is because of our close proximity to Clemson.

His reputation there is probably tarnished and he doesn’t want to face the backlash from his alma mater.

Think about it. The guy isn’t playing football currently and he hasn’t been to a single Clemson game this season. In years past he’s been to multiple Clemson games including their playoffs games. Hell, the school may have told him they don’t want to be associated with him any longer.

I can totally understand him not going to Clemson games this season, he's just laying low.

I think a lot of you guys are overthinking why Watson chose Miami over Clt. Florida has no income tax, he saves millions of dollars by living in Fl. Weather is nicer, way more appeal in Miami compared to Clt and he can make a name for himself in Miami. I haven't heard superstars (NFL or NBA) say that they want to come to Clt because it's the best city on the east coast. That's why Tepper is building that new state of the art fancy headquarters in Rock Hill. It's like recruiting HS players, better facility, better culture, better team gets the best players.

The is definitely the best thing for this franchise right now.  The draft is alive and well for us and we keep all options available.  This team isn't that far away IMO.  Defense will only get better.  Time to focus on the offense this offseason

I cant wait to see what Miami does here

The second bit is just someone's take on it.  The process is ongoing is pretty key.  There's no need for charges to occur for him to be played in the exempt list etc.

I wasn't referring to the "second bit"...

Goodell said:  "We don't feel we have that necessary information to place him on the exempt list."

Put another way, absent new information he stays off the exempt list...

...a move to Miami (or starting in Houston) wouldn't constitute "new information".

So one QB preferred Los Angeles and another preferred Miami to... Charlotte.

My jimmies are not rustled.

Maybe Darnold develops. If not, we draft a QB.  Of course it sucks but I'll give the regime another year before ejecting my fandom.

I have a feeling that If Darnold ever develops into a semi-competent QB, it won't be with us.

But chances are, he remains the same as he is now no matter where he ends up.

I'm convinced it's the unprofessionalism and collegial vibe beginning and ending with Rhule.  I think his hire is really gonna end up costing us more than we can currently imagine.

Or Watson, I would imagine, watched a bit of tape and saw the Oline and realized it would a bigger punishment taking the hits in Carolina then sitting in jail.

Or... Some of the new information he's lacking is when he will next see a football field...
