What? Not even the best line in their own division.

You are incorrect, WFT has the top rushing win rate o-line in the league and 4th passing blocking win rate in the league......

Forget all these meanless stats. Simply put, the Panthers are a better all around football team than the Washington club and should win Sunday if they play like they are capable.

The fact that Cam will be starting or playing a lot should be an emotional uplift and prevent a flat performance.

The players and coaches will be sensing a possible playoff berth, which should give them an extra incentive to win.

I get your point but we also have a better team than the philadelphia eagles, the minnesota vikings, and the new york giants.

unfortunately we lost all three of those games despite being the better team. had we won, we would have the best record in the nfl

Ron will try to pressure Cam into making bad decisions and take away the run outside. If this staff knows he know's they will really open up the playbook. Don't be surprised to see PJ out there a lot also. They will move around CMC and use Chuba and Ameer a lot. TMJ might actually get a lot of looks and Tremble too. We don't have to get fancy to win but we do need to confuse they with looks. Even if they are just for show Rivera can't comprehend what he doesn't understand. All we have to do is control TOP and turnovers in our favor and Riverboat will sink under his own incompetence. On defense. Take away the middle of the field, Heinke loves to throw there, don't give Gibson room to change direction and finally shadow Gilmore on McLaurin all game. We can win this if we play smart. Rivera gameplays well but cannot adjust if his life depended on it. We need to show them nothing he recognizes on either side and he will show us exactly why we had to move on from him.

This is what I know they have two great defensive minds that know a whole lot about our two best offensive weapons.

But they are decimated by injuries right now. No young no sweat. Starting corner doubtful.

Offensively I think one tackle is banged up and they just signed a TE off the street.

We should have an advantage health wise.

I think this game will be close. Ron knows a lot of our tendencies on offense, and he’s pretty good at drawing up decent schemes on defense.

Need to get to Taylor early, shake him up.

Cam needs to control his emotions, establish dominance on offense early

Everyone knows Ron loves close games

This whole "Ron knows Cam" narrative cracks me up. What's he going to do to Cam with all of that 'knowledge?' His defense is on IR, and he's going to have a hard time slowing down Cam now that he's not his coach. He can't bench him for not wearing a tie on the bus, or run him into the ground because his OC is too busy eating paste to draw up a decent game plan. IF, and that's a massive IF, he's able to stifle Cam, we can just swap in PJ and blow his mind. Ron is trash against backup QBs, and with our current setup, basically both Cam and PJ are backups depending on who's in the game. Call it Schrödinger's QB.

Both alive and dead, lol. Lets hope Ron thinks this way!

They have a strong DL, even without Chase.  If we can keep the energy, play for the home crowd, I think we can win this.

On Defense - don't get beat by McLaurin - a real star in the NFL.  If Taylor get's time, he's going to hit #17, and that's going to be rough.  Still have to control the line of scrimmage and keep them from establishing the run.

I just hope that Panthers don't get cute.  Play good solid football, protect the ball, force some turnovers and get after the QB.  If we can do that, then we'll be good.

Good post I hope Gilmore #9 can erase #17

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
