Speculation : Could Tepper have been waiting for for Pittsburgh's season to end?

Read that closely…

Tomlin is obviously a good coach. But you have to remember that is a franchise with FIVE Super Bowls including two with the current QB. So…winning a super bowl and then being “good” doesn’t really do a whole lot for you in that town. The Steelers have been good but not great (especially in the playoffs) since that last super bowl win and those minority owners aren’t the only people who wanted a different coach.

Tepper only cares about making money.  That's all he knows.  He pretends and tries to do something else but... like most of us he is a creature of habit and will repeat what has worked for him time and time again.  In other words he will try to increase his capital score.

They do not have managerial control of the team. Rooney does.

Tomlin signed an extension before this past season that keeps him contracted to the team through the 2020 season.

The group was especially critical of Tomlin's clock management in the team's 45-42 loss to Jacksonville Jaguars in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs. Pittsburgh chose to take an onside kick with two timeouts and the two-minute warning remaining, down by 7, before burning all but the last 47 seconds on the Jacksonville 10-yard line when still trailing by 10.

As much as I dislike Sizzles posts..  I believe he's trying to say that those are the minority owners.  Not that they are the ones that specifically wanted Tomlin fired.  The wording is a little tricky.  I guess it's up for interpretation.

Mike Tomlin was able to coach a successful team with the egos of Ben, Brown, and Bell all in the same locker room. That man can flat out coach and if he ever chose to leave the Steelers, he'll have a long list of suitors.

This has mostly been a huddle parrot because there was actually never confirmation on which 12 of the minority owners wanted him gone.

The PFT thing just lists the names of the owners not who actually wanted him out.

You might get Colbert, you could conceivably get Tomlin (doubt it though) but you wouldn't get both.

Colbert and Tomlin have reportedly been in something of a power struggle for the past few years, with speculation being that Colbert has been losing.

So yeah, one or the other but in this case you can't collect the whole set.
