Please, New Orleans hosts the Super Bowl like every 3-4 years, the NFL is on a love affair with them. They're allowed to flirt with risking not being able to field a team under the cap by kicking the can with the assumption the cap will go up (while not illegal, it's risky and the NFL will let them off easy when they inevitably can't fix the cap mess). If Carolina tried what New Orleans does, we would lose draft picks for conduct detrimental to the integrity of the NFL.

"Correction"

while they haven't hosted it recently, the city of New Orleans has hosted the 2nd most SBs behind Miami.

Lol NO has less than 400,000 people and the entire area is one of the most economically depressed areas of the entire country. They get raped by hurricanes every year. Charlotte has almost 900,000 people and double that in the local area. They have Super Bowls there because it’s a huge party location.

Core players?? Huh

Rb facing charges and 1 WR coming back after sitting for the year..

The Oline is losing Atleast 2 major parts..

And without draft picks and Money how do they add talent.. They are already going to have to move heaven and earth to make this happen..

Our RB is forever hurt, might be part of the trade.  Our OL already is missing two parts, maybe three. Any team that gets Watson is losing draft picks, so that's a wash.  We have more cap room than the Saints.  Again, is that in Watson's consideration?  'I want to go to a team with lots of cap space'.  Nah, not seeing that as a factor in his decision.

I know people are happy with this but I find it pretty disgusting if true.  Sounds like a man with no integrity at all

Why? He's the owner. He could let his pet monkey make the coaching choice if he wanted to. If he wants to let a franchise QB have a say, then what's the big deal?

If true about Watson being able to pick the next head coach, it makes sense why Rhule wasnt at the press conference for the combine. That would mean Tepper is pushing all of his chips to the center of the table and betting on Watson. He knew that picking the head coach was a major sticking point for his rift with the Texans, so enticing him with this may be the one thing Tepper knew he could give that another team wouldn't. He has brought in veteran, experienced position coaches to help the incoming head coach. Which I am guessing would be Bieniemy. New coach, new QB, and 2nd year GM. As close to a fresh start as possible. But it would be an unusual thing to see a coach fired so late in the off-season. Between that and the Watson trade, the Panthers would be the talk of the NFL.
