Baker Mayfield to DJ Moore

Baker needs a fresh start. He's got a 1,000 yard per year receiver who plays the game without ego, just incredible skill. This could work out very, very well for both of them.

Now, if they can just have a 1,000/1,000 yard RB/Receiver out there for the full season also, then we might just have a lot to celebrate this year.

The potential is there, the potential is there.

Health and McAdoo...if we get good showings from both, we may have a shot at a WC.

Need Baker to just play decent to good, doesn't have to be an All Pro....and need the same from the run D.

Baker Mayfield > one of the most ineffective starting QBs in the NFL when it comes to producing game winning drives.

DJ Moore >  one of the most ineffective starting WRs in the NFL when it comes to producing game winning drives.

Here's to hoping the Panthers defense is so good they can keep a team from getting the lead to start the game and maintain the lead for the most if not all of the games this season.

If the Panthers are wanting their offense to be at the top of the NFL in GWD, then they failed at finding the QBs and WRs who can achieve this feat. All hope for the offense will be on CMC staying healthy and maintaining drives and leads for the offense in close games.

Moore is underrated but most of those guys above him are quite a bit better so far. McLauren at 2 years older and not as good with a higher contract though… oof skins, bad contract

Love DJ, but Scary Terry is a different breed. Most underrated WR in the NFL. DJ is probably second.

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
